UGANDA - A milestone year has arrived for Bukoola Chemical Industries Limited, as they celebrated their Golden Anniversary "Amakungulago Celebrations".

The Company started as a general merchandize family business in 1973, later evolving into an agrochemical business trading as the Associated Chemical Industries Limited(ACIL) in 1980.

In 50 years, Bukoola has been training farmers in good agricultural Practices and Business Management skills to help them manage their land, effectively cultivate their crops and increase their harvests.

Uganda produces a wide range of agricultural products including coffee, tea, sugar, livestock, fish, edible oils, cotton, tobacco, plantains, corn, beans, cassava, sweet potatoes, millet, sorghum, groundnuts to mention but a few. Farmers are advised to protect their crops using Bukoola Chemical Industries Ltd products. Their distribution system is backed by a van/truck delivery system on almost all major routes.

Bukoola is known for top quality Insecticides, Fungicides, Bactericides, Immune boosters, Fertilizers, Herbicides and Organics. In 1996, Bukoola Chemical Industries Ltd was born with a vision of being the Leading importer, formulator, and distributor of quality and affordable Crop Protection products in the region.

According to Dr. Peter Kyabaguu, Managing Director Bukoola Chemical Industries Ltd, Bukoola started 50 years ago with a mission to advance Science of Crop Protection by providing top-quality solution-based products and excellent customer-consciois services.

Bukoola Chemical Industries has established itself as an industry leader with over 50 crop protection solutions supporting food production in the region. Solutions for the next 50 years according to Dr. Peter Kyabaguu, MD:

Demand for food is growing at the same time the supply side faces constraints in land and farming inputs. The world's population is on track to reach 9.7 billion by 2050 of which Uganda has 0.59%. And then there are increasing environmental pressures, such as climate change and the economic impact of catastrophic weather events, and social pressures, including the push for more ethical and sustainable farm practices, such as higher standards for farm- animal welfare.

All farmers need to have knowledge on the efficient and sustainable use of Agro inputs for higher yields and lower costs by identifying and predicting deficiencies.

Invited guests were on 24th February 2023 treated to a sumptuous celebration at the Pearl of Africa Hotel in Kampala where many dignitaries attended.
