Bunyoro derby up next as Kitara And Wakiso Giants Qualify For Round Of 16 in the Stanbic Uganda Cup 49th Edition

UGANDA - It is set to be Fast, Furious, and not for the Faint hearted. Its Derby Day, as Kitara FC look t bounce back to the top of the FUFA Big League when the host archrivals Booma FC at Kigaaya COU playground on Friday 17th February 2023 .

Meanwhile, Blacks Power FC and Uganda Pentecostal University FC have been eliminated from the on-going 49th edition of the Stanbic Uganda Cup after losing to Kitara FC and Wakiso Giants FC, respectively.

At the Akii-Bua stadium, Blacks Power FC and Wakiso Giants FC had a goalless scoreline after the fulltime whistle and this led to spot kicks. Visitors, Wakiso Giants FC, emerged the better side overcoming Blacks Power 6-5. Both sides play in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.

Meanwhile, Dudu Ramathan scored twice for Kitara FC in the second half to enable his side qualify for the round of 16. Abdulburst Bwambale scored for the visitors but it wasn’t enough to enable them see qualification. Kitara FC plays in the FUFA Big League while Uganda Pentecostal University FC plays in the Kitara Regional League.

Jinja North United host losing finalists from the last edition, Vipers SC at Kakindu stadium in Jinja at 2pm , defending champions BUL FC taking on SC Villa at the FUFA technical center in Njeru at 4pm , Mbarara City host Admin FC at Kakyeka stadium at 4pm while Mbale Heroes host Solitilo Bright Stars at 4pm inside Mbale Municipal stadium.
