Do not increase school fees or you will be punished - First Lady Uganda
Speaking at the release of results for the 2022 Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE), the first lady and the minister for Education and Sports, Janet Museveni said that cabinet had guided the ministry that all schools must maintain the fees structure for the third term of 2022.

UGANDA - Educational institutions have been warned from increasing school fees for the first term scheduled to begin on February 6 for senior two to senior six and February 20 for senior one learners.
Speaking at the release of results for the 2022 Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE), the first lady and the minister for Education and Sports, Janet Museveni said that cabinet had guided the ministry that all schools must maintain the fees structure for the third term of 2022.
Meanwhile, Pupils will again this year have to get their results through SMS on their phones, Uganda National Examination Board (UNEB) has confirmed. Head teachers can however only get school copies of the results starting on Monday from UNEB’s offices in Kampala.

Releasing the results at State House in Nakasero, the Executive director of Uganda National Examination Board, Daniel Odongo said a total of 811,810 students sat for the examinations out of the 832,654 who were registered.
Of these, 114,617 passed in first grade, 357,799 passed in grade two,146,583 in third grade, and 95,702 passed in fourth grade. According to UNEB statistics, 97,109 candidates were not graded.
A total of 714,702 out of 811,810 students who sat for the examinations have passed and can proceed to post-primary education, according to Odongo.
He however says those who were not graded should repeat primary seven.
Odongo reported that more pupils qualified to join post-primary institutions than in previous years. Meanwhile, More than 10 people were arrested and are being prosecuted over 2022 Primary Leaving Examination (PLE) malpractices, according to the Uganda National Emanation Board (UNEB).
According to UNEB executive director, Mr Daniel Odong, examination scouts and examiners reported a number of cases of suspected external assistance rendered to candidates by third parties inside the examination rooms and smuggling of information relevant to the examination by some of the candidates.
