Former inmate Jonathan Mugerwa is in advanced talks with MUBS Management having written a formal letter to the MUBS Principal, Prof. Waswa Balunywa seeking the introduction of Creative Facilitation to the Luzira Study Center for inmates.
KAMPALA - Makerere University Business School recently introduced the MUBS Creative Facilitation workshop by Mr. David Kafumbe organized by the MUBS-EIIC on April 14th, 2023. The workshop was incredibly insightful and informative, and it has the potential to positively impact the lives of many individuals.
According to former prisoner(inmate) Jonathan Mugerwa who now works as an Administrative Assistant at the MUBS Entrepreneurship Incubation and Innovation Centre, MUBS firmly believes that every individual, regardless of their circumstances, deserves an opportunity to improvr their lives and contribute positively to society. In line with this belief, the Faculty of Distance Education (FVDE) established a study center in Luzira Prisons back in 2009 as part of MUBS’ Corporate Social responsibility. This study center has been doing an excellent job in educating inmates, and Jonathan Mugerwa a former inmate who studied his Diploma while in prison says he is proud of the impact it has had on their lives.
He is now in advanced talks with MUBS Management having written a formal letter to the MUBS Principal, Prof. Waswa Balunywa seeking the introduction of Creative Facilitation to the Luzira Study Center for inmates.
According to him, this program has proved to be effective in developing creativity and critical thinking skill, as well as enhancing teamwork and communication. He believes that the inmates at Luzira would greatly benefit from such a program, and it would contribute to their successful rehabilitation and reintegration into society.
