HOIMA - FBL results:

Kitara 3 – 0 Calvary

Kigaaya

Kitara increased their lead at the top of the Fufa big league table to three points with a comprehensive 3-0 win over Calvary at Kigaaya on Thursday evening.
They are back to winning ways following their 1-0 loss to Kataka FC from Mbale away last week at the Fufa technical centre Njeru. The Royals scored through Patrick Kaddu and Charles Kyomuhendo.
Kaddu netted a brace provided by John Kisaakye while Kyomuhendo headed in a well curled Moses Sseluyidde’s free kick which resulted from a foul on Davis Ssali.
The striker (Patrick kaddu) ended his goal drought after he had gone three games without scoring. He has now 9 goals from seven games.

Mark Twinamatsiko rang some changes handing left back Patrick Mugume his first appearance ahead of Jasper Aheebwa who had started all the previous six matches.
Mugume had a solid display, roving back and forth and no threat came through his flank.

Similarly, Farouk Yawe and Kyomuhendo were recalled to the starting lineup in goal and right back respectively. The trio combined well in the defense to ensure the team kept a clean sheet.
The gaffer was impressed by his side’s win but most importantly their response.

The attitude was better than the one in the previous game; the boys showed intent and urgency from the start. We hope they can carry this character into the next game,” Twinamatsiko commented in the post-match interview.
The victory was timely and morale boasting as they now shift focus to the trip to Kavumba to face Police FC next Thursday, 1st December 2022.

Meanwhile, Mabara City dropped two points after being held to a 1-1 draw at home with Police while bottom placed Soroti upset NEC subjecting them to 1-0 defeat, also their second loss.
Kitara lead with 16 points, three ahead of second placed Mbarara City, NEC drop to third while Booma and Police occupy the 4th and 5th place respectively.
