Power Transition Plea

KAMPALA - It seems there's a call for President Museveni to consider a peaceful transition of power in Uganda, with Hon. Twalla Fadil ,Tingey MP, Kapchorwa District urging him to hand over power to his son, Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba (MK). Fadil who is also the MK Sebei Region Coordinator and Cheif Mobilizer acknowledges Museveni's contributions and leadership but emphasizes the importance of a peaceful transfer, citing Uganda's history without such transitions since independence in 1962. Fadil highlights Museveni's mentoring of leaders across generations and appeals for the opportunity to witness a peaceful transition in the upcoming General elections.

Relatedly, MK Movement under the leadership of General Muhoozi Kainerugaba once again, congratulates His Royal Highness the Kyabazinga of Busoga Wilberforce Gabula Nadiope IV , Queen Jovia Mutesi the Ihnebantu of Busoga and all the people of Busoga for organizing a colourful Royal function on 18th November 2023.

MK Movement draws it's attention to allegations made by the President of the National Unity Platform (NUP) Hon. Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu that having earlier been invited by The Organizing Committee of the Royal Wedding of the Kyabazinga, President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, MK Movement Chairman made sure that he and other members of his Party do not attend by deploying heavy security at the function. He further alleged that he had been contacted and warned not to attend the function on the instructions of Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba.

All MK Regional Coordinators attended the press conference held at Sheraton Hotel Kampala apart from Denis Mbidde Ssebugwawo the Buganda MK Coordinator, categorically state and inform the country at large that Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba had nothing to do with Hon. Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu's absence at the Royal Wedding. The Organizing Committee of the wedding invited some members of the Central Committee of the MK Movement . The MK Chairman was invited as a special guest of His Royal Highness the Kyabazinga and was requested to speak on behalf of friends of His Royal Highness the Kyabazinga.

Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba had nothing to do with Hon. Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu's absence at the Royal Wedding simply because he was neither on the Organizing Committee nor was he the one issuing invitation cards. He was also invited like other guests. The discretion to invite guests was by the hosts and not Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba.

Hon. Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu should therefore find other reasons to use as to why he did not attend the wedding of His Royal Highness the Kyabazinga. MK Movement coordinators say it is so sad that he continues to use Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba as the reason for his own undoing and weakness and dare challenge Hon Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu to name the person who told him. Hon Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu should know that Ugandans have long moved away from politics of blackmail, idle talk and theatre.

MK Movement requests its brother the leader of NUP to stop politics of name calling, insults and telling lies about people who seemingly disagree with his political views. For long, together with the NUP Party, they have restored to attacking and insulting anybody who challenges their views and deeds. They started attacking the Katiikiro of Buganda and Nabagereka accusing them of deliberately refusing to take His Highness the Kabaka of Buganda for treatment, they went on and demonstrated in the US where the Former Speaker of Parliament of Uganda had been flown out for treatment. They have now resorted to insulting His Highness the Kyabazinga and the people of Busoga.

This behavior is unacceptable both traditionally and in the present modern times, therefore there is no need for Hon Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu to abuse His Royal Highness the Kyabazinga of Busoga for not inviting him to the Royal Wedding.

The MK Movement therefore condemns this act in the strongest terms possible and asks Hon Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu to apologize to the people of Busoga, friends of Busoga, His Royal Highness and Ihnebantu.

Lastly, the MK Movement thanked the Commander-in-Chief of the Uganda People's Defence Forces for providing enough security for the Royal Wedding which continues to demonstrate the capacity of our armed forces amidst so many threats like ADF. MK Movement also thanked all Ugandans and institutions that supported the Wedding
