Busoga's cultural head, the Kyabazinga calls for unity in the Ugandan region

The Kyabazinga said there’s need for leaders in Busoga to also rally the people and friends of Busoga to steer Busoga’s development to regain their lost glory.

BUSOGA - The Kyabazinga of Busoga William Gabula Nadiope IV has called for unity amongst Busoga leaders if they are to steer development and transformation in the sub region.

The Kyabazinga said there’s need for leaders in Busoga to also rally the people and friends of Busoga to steer Busoga’s development to regain their lost glory.

He made the call while hosting the Bishop of Busoga diocese Naimanhye Paul and his clergy from Christ Cathedral Bugembe who paid a pastoral visit to the Kyabazinga at his Budhumbula Palace in Kamuli district on Easter Monday.

In his speech, the Kyabazinga called for unity among leaders and his subjects in order to continue developing and transforming the Busoga sub-region.

Kyabazinga quoted a verse in his Bible from the book of 1st Corinthians 14:26 which says “When you come together, every one of you has a psalm, has a doctrine, has a tongue, has a revelation, and has an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying, therefore encourage one another to build up another just as you are doing.”

Paul Samson Naimanhye, the Bishop of Busoga Diocese thanked the Kyabazinga for inviting them at the Budhumbula Palace to celebrate and have Easter carols.

Naimanhye prayed to God to give the Kyabazinga wisdom and knowledge since he (Kyabazinga) is the identity of Busoga.

He added that going to the palace was a sign of unity and encouraged the Basoga to continue being united.

The Kyabazinga Affairs Minister, Owek. Yudaya Babirye, called upon the Basoga to always implement the directives and advice from the Kyabazinga.

Busoga Kingdom’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Owek. Joan Machora Kitto expressed dismay over climate change challenges that affect the people and called upon leaders to mobilise people to continue planting trees and a lot of food to avoid famine too.

Busoga Kingdom’s Prime Minister, Dr. Joseph Muvawala, who was accompanied by his second deputy, Osman Ahmed Noor, appreciated Busoga Diocese for conducting the special prayers at the Kyabazinga’s Budhumbula Palace in Kamuli.

Muvawala appreciated the government for implementing its development and transformation programs in Busoga sub region.

Pupils from Kamuli Boys and Kamuli Girls boarding schools recited poems and sang songs that had messages of encouraging leaders in Busoga to unite.

Present at the special prayers was, the Issabalangira of Busoga, Samuel Zirabamuzale, Chief Nkono Mutyaba of Bukono Chiefdom, David Kantale Kazungu, Ministers from Busoga Kingdom and the clergy from Busoga diocese. The Kyabazinga cut a cake and served his subjects after the prayers.
