Kampala Revellers Soak in Early Easter Vibes at FlexiPay-Sponsored Reminisce Kadanke
Dubbed “The Daytime Disco Edition,” the event transformed First Street in Kampala’s industrial area into a lively hub of entertainment, drawing revellers from across the city to relive the golden days of classic R&B and soul music.
Kampala, Uganda — The spirit of nostalgia, music, and celebration filled the air over the weekend as Kampala’s social scene came alive during the March 2026 edition of Reminisce Kadanke, a vibrant event sponsored by Stanbic Bank Uganda through its digital payments platform, FlexiPay.
Dubbed “The Daytime Disco Edition,” the event transformed First Street in Kampala’s industrial area into a lively hub of entertainment, drawing revellers from across the city to relive the golden days of classic R&B and soul music. Hosted at the iconic Club Guvnor, the gathering delivered a unique blend of music, nostalgia, and social connection, positioning itself as one of the standout lifestyle events on Kampala’s entertainment calendar.
At the heart of the experience was a carefully curated musical journey that transported attendees back in time. With electrifying sets from DJs including DJ Bryan, DJ Kasbaby, DJ Cisse, and Sal Deejay, the event offered a seamless mix of timeless hits that kept the crowd dancing from mid-afternoon until late into the night. The show was steered by charismatic host Timothy Code, whose energy helped sustain the lively atmosphere throughout the day.
Speaking during the event, Reminisce co-founder Robert Victor Nsibirwa emphasized the vision behind the concept, describing it as more than just a party.
“Reminisce is an experiential event that brings together lovers of old-school culture to enjoy classic music while reconnecting with friends. We call this the grown folk’s playground because it offers an opportunity to have fun without restrictions,” Nsibirwa said.
He added that the “Daytime Disco” theme was deliberately chosen to evoke youthful memories shared by many attendees.
“Many of our guests remember telling their parents they were going for coaching, only to sneak off to kadanke parties. Today, they can relive those moments freely,” he noted.
The event also doubled as a stress-relief platform, offering Kampala’s working professionals a chance to unwind in a relaxed, social environment. This was further enhanced by a happy hour experience, where revellers enjoyed discounted drinks—exclusively accessible through FlexiPay transactions—highlighting the growing role of digital financial solutions in Uganda’s lifestyle and entertainment spaces.
For many attendees, the experience was deeply personal. First-time participant Lynn Birungi shared how the event allowed her to reconnect with a part of her youth she had missed.
“My parents were very strict about school parties. Being here feels like I’ve finally made up for the fun I missed,” she said with a smile.
Since its inception in 2021, Reminisce Kadanke has evolved from a niche concept into a highly anticipated event that now runs three times a year. According to Nsibirwa, its growth reflects a rising demand for curated, experience-driven social gatherings in Uganda.
Encouragingly, the brand is also expanding beyond Uganda’s borders, signaling its potential to become a regional lifestyle phenomenon.
Looking ahead, organisers confirmed that the next edition of Reminisce will take place in August 2026, with a grand finale scheduled for December—promising even bigger experiences for fans of old-school music and culture.
As Kampala continues to embrace innovative entertainment formats, events like Reminisce Kadanke are redefining how urban audiences connect, celebrate, and unwind—blending nostalgia with modern convenience in a way that resonates across generations.
