Court Grants Chris Obore Shs30m Cash Bail
Obore’s sureties have been bonded at Shs300 million each, not in cash. His co-accused Mureebe Muhanuka, Rajab Kaaya and Emmanuel Okwi were each granted bail on a Shs20 million cash bond, while Daniel Adiro and Leonard Okema were each granted bail on a Shs35 million cash bond.
Interdicted Parliament Communications Director Chris Obore has been granted cash bail of Shs30 million by court and ordered to deposit his passport and a land title as part of his bail conditions.
Obore’s sureties have been bonded at Shs300 million each, not in cash.
His co-accused Mureebe Muhanuka, Rajab Kaaya and Emmanuel Okwi were each granted bail on a Shs20 million cash bond, while Daniel Adiro and Leonard Okema were each granted bail on a Shs35 million cash bond.
Vincent Tebata was granted bail on a Shs30 million cash bond.
All the accused persons are also required to provide sureties bonded at Shs300 million each and must report to the Registrar on the first Monday of every month as part of their bail conditions.
The court’s decision allows the accused persons to remain out of custody as they continue with proceedings in the case against them.
Chris Obore and other former senior parliamentary officials are accused of corruption, embezzlement, causing massive financial loss to the government, and money laundering.
