Hon. Twaha Fadhil Backs Lillian Nabaasa’s Serena Gospel Concert, Calls for Faith-Driven Leadership

KAMPALA — Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) Secretary General Hon. Twaha Fadhil has pledged his support for gospel musician Lillian Nabaasa’s upcoming concert, saying political leaders should use every opportunity to promote the gospel and values that strengthen society.

Fadhil made the commitment after meeting Nabaasa shortly after her press conference at Serena Hotel in Kampala, where the singer announced preparations for her concert scheduled for August 30 at Serena Hotel.

The concert will feature different ticket categories, with ordinary entrance set at Shs200,000, while tables will cost Shs2 million, Shs3 million and Shs5 million.

Speaking to our reporter, Fadhil said supporting gospel music was not only about entertainment but also about creating platforms through which Christian messages could reach wider audiences.

He said politicians, regardless of their political responsibilities, should also be willing to contribute to efforts that promote faith, hope and positive values in society.

“It is good for politicians to also preach the gospel to the world whenever possible,” Fadhil said, stressing that leaders have an opportunity to use their influence to support initiatives that bring people together and encourage positive change.

Fadhil's pledge comes as Nabaasa mobilises support for the concert, which is expected to bring together gospel music lovers, religious leaders, politicians, businesspeople and other members of the public.

The meeting between Fadhil and Nabaasa also highlighted the growing intersection between gospel music and public leadership, with artists increasingly relying on partnerships with political and business leaders to stage major events.

Nabaasa is expected to use the concert to deliver a message of faith and encouragement to her audience, while the event will also provide a platform for gospel music enthusiasts to celebrate her musical ministry.

Fadhil called on members of the public to support the concert, describing such initiatives as important platforms for spreading messages that can positively influence communities.

The August 30 event at Serena Hotel is therefore expected to be more than a music performance, with organisers positioning it as an evening of gospel, fellowship and reflection.
