The Nkumba University Law Society has announced the death of Nankandwe Patricia, a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) student who was expected to graduate in October 2026. Patricia’s death has plunged the LLB Class of 2026 and the wider Nkumba University community into mourning, with fellow students describing the loss as particularly painful coming at a time when she was nearing the completion of her university education.

In a message announcing her death, the Nkumba University Law Society expressed deep sorrow over the passing of the student, who was among the candidates awaiting graduation later this year.

“It is with deep sorrow and sadness that we announce the death of our dear student, Nankandwe Patricia who was awaiting graduation in October, 2026,” the Law Society said.

The society said Patricia’s passing had created a significant void within her class, emphasizing the close bond shared by students who had journeyed together through their Bachelor of Laws programme.

“The LLB class of 2026 is really left with a gap that is difficult to fill,” the statement added.

Patricia was approaching an important milestone in her academic journey, having completed the requirements that placed her among students expected to graduate with the LLB Class of 2026.

Her death has therefore been received with particular sadness by classmates and members of the Law Society, who were looking forward to celebrating her academic achievement alongside other graduating students.

The circumstances surrounding Patricia’s death have not been disclosed by the Nkumba University Law Society. The announcement also did not provide further details regarding the circumstances of her passing.

Patricia’s death comes as the university community prepares for another graduation season, making the loss especially difficult for classmates who had expected to share the occasion with her.

According to information shared by the Law Society, Patricia will be laid to rest today at Dingo-Muwoko in Mubende District, along the Kakumiro Road.

Her burial will provide an opportunity for family, friends, classmates and members of the university community to come together and pay their final respects to a student whose university journey was nearing completion.

The Nkumba University Law Society has joined Patricia’s family, friends and classmates in mourning her death, as the LLB Class of 2026 comes to terms with the loss of one of its members.

Her passing leaves behind memories among those who studied with her and shared her university experience.

May the family, friends, classmates and the entire Nkumba University community find strength and comfort during this difficult time.

May Nankandwe Patricia’s soul rest in eternal peace.
