TMR International Hospital Wins Two Platinum Awards at 2026 East Africa Brand Quality Awards

TMR International Hospital has won two Platinum Awards at the 6th East Africa Brand Quality Awards (EABQA) 2026, earning recognition for excellence in multi-specialty healthcare service delivery and digital health innovation.

The hospital was named Best Healthcare Service Provider: Multi-specialty in East Africa and Best Digital Health Innovation in East Africa, reinforcing its focus on quality healthcare, patient-centred services and the use of technology to improve access to medical care.

In addition to the two Platinum Awards, TMR International Hospital received the Quality Seal of Excellence, further recognising its commitment to maintaining high standards in healthcare delivery.

The awards ceremony was held on Friday, October 16, 2026, at Hotel Africana and Convention Centre in Kampala under the theme, “Global Visionaries of Quality: Pioneering Sustainable Innovations, Advancing Technology & Value Addition.”

The recognition highlights the hospital's efforts to combine specialised medical services with digital solutions aimed at making healthcare more accessible, convenient and responsive to patients' needs.

ISO certifications reinforce quality commitment

TMR International Hospital's achievement is backed by its commitment to internationally recognised management standards, reflected in three ISO certifications covering quality management, environmental responsibility and occupational health and safety.

These include ISO 9001:2015 for Quality Management, ISO 14001:2015 for Environmental Management and ISO 45001:2018 for Occupational Health and Safety.

The certifications underscore the hospital's emphasis on structured systems, patient safety, responsible environmental practices and the protection of healthcare workers and other staff.

According to the hospital, excellence in healthcare extends beyond clinical treatment to include the safety of the working environment, the efficiency of operational systems and the overall experience of patients seeking medical services.

Commenting on the recognition, the hospital's Executive Director said the awards would encourage the institution to continue improving its services and investing in solutions that respond to patients' changing needs.

“At TMR International Hospital, we believe that healthcare excellence must be reflected not only in the quality of clinical care we provide, but also in the safety of our environment, the efficiency of our systems and the experience of every patient we serve,” the Executive Director said.

The director added that the hospital's ISO certifications demonstrate its commitment to quality management, environmental responsibility and occupational health and safety, while its digital health initiatives reflect its determination to expand access to healthcare through technology and innovation.

“These recognitions encourage us to keep raising our standards, listening to our patients and investing in solutions that respond to their changing needs. Our greatest responsibility is to the people who trust us with their health, and we remain committed to earning that trust through continuous improvement, compassionate care and service excellence,” the Executive Director said.

Digital innovation at the centre of healthcare delivery

One of the initiatives highlighted by the hospital is the TMR Golden Living app, a digital platform designed to make accessing healthcare services more convenient for patients.

The platform offers a range of services, including remote consultations, appointment booking, laboratory and medicine orders, real-time health monitoring and support for patients managing chronic conditions.

Through these services, the hospital aims to reduce some of the logistical challenges associated with accessing healthcare while enabling patients to engage more conveniently with medical professionals and follow up on their health needs.

Remote consultations, for instance, can provide patients with an additional way to seek medical advice without necessarily travelling to a healthcare facility for every interaction. Meanwhile, appointment booking and laboratory and medicine ordering services can help streamline access to selected hospital services.

The platform's health-monitoring and chronic-care support features also demonstrate the potential of digital tools to complement conventional healthcare by supporting continuity of care for patients who require regular monitoring and follow-up.

The hospital's Platinum Award for Best Digital Health Innovation in East Africa recognises its efforts in this area, placing technological innovation alongside clinical service delivery as a key component of its approach to healthcare excellence.

Patient experience and continuous improvement

TMR International Hospital said the awards reflect its broader commitment to improving patient experiences while maintaining quality standards across its operations.

The hospital credited its medical professionals, nurses, administrative teams and support staff for their contribution to the achievement, acknowledging the role of teamwork and dedication in delivering healthcare services.

It also expressed appreciation to its patients for their continued trust, describing that confidence as an important responsibility that must be sustained through compassionate care, consistent service delivery and ongoing improvement.

The recognition comes at a time when healthcare providers are increasingly exploring ways to combine professional medical services with digital technology and efficient management systems to respond to changing patient expectations.

For TMR International Hospital, the two Platinum Awards represent recognition of its work in both multi-specialty healthcare and digital innovation, while its Quality Seal of Excellence adds to the honours received at the 2026 awards ceremony.

The hospital has pledged to build on the achievement by continuing to invest in innovation, strengthen service delivery and place patients at the centre of its operations.

As it celebrates the recognition, TMR International Hospital says its focus remains on pursuing excellence, embracing technology and earning the trust of the people who depend on its services.
