President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and First Lady Janet Museveni have received international evangelist Bishop Dr. LaDonna C. Osborn at State House Entebbe, as she visits Uganda ahead of the consecration of Pastor Patience Rwabwogo as a Bishop.

The meeting brought together faith, history and longstanding ties between the Osborn family and Uganda, with President Museveni highlighting the enduring friendship that has existed between the two families for decades.

According to President Museveni, Dr. Osborn is in Uganda to participate in the upcoming consecration of Pastor Patience Rwabwogo, an occasion expected to bring together church leaders, Christians and other dignitaries.

During the meeting, Dr. Osborn reflected on her first visit to Uganda in 1985, when she travelled to the country with her late mother, who was actively involved in Christian ministry and reached out to many Ugandans during a particularly difficult period in the country's history.

The visit also evoked personal memories for the First Lady, who recalled the relationship between her family and Dr. Osborn's late mother.

Maama Janet remembered how Dr. Osborn's mother prayed with the Museveni family and played a role in nurturing the family's Christian faith. She also recalled that the children in the Museveni family received their first Bibles from Dr. Osborn's mother.

The memories offered a reflection of the deep personal and spiritual connection that has existed between the Osborn family and Uganda, extending beyond formal religious engagements.

President Museveni said the discussions also provided an opportunity to reflect on Uganda's transformation over the years, from the difficult circumstances that characterized the country during Dr. Osborn's first visit in 1985 to the developments Uganda has experienced over the subsequent decades.

The President described the relationship between the Osborn family and Uganda as an enduring friendship, welcoming Dr. Osborn back to the country.

"I welcome Dr. Osborn back to Uganda and wish Pastor Patience a blessed consecration," President Museveni said.

Dr. LaDonna C. Osborn is an internationally known Christian evangelist and minister who has been associated with global evangelistic missions for decades. Her return to Uganda underscores the longstanding links between her ministry and the country's Christian community.

Her first visit in 1985, together with her late mother, remains particularly significant because it took place during a challenging chapter in Uganda's history. The Osborn family's ministry at the time brought Christian messages and spiritual encouragement to communities facing difficult circumstances.

The meeting at State House therefore served not only as a courtesy engagement ahead of Pastor Patience Rwabwogo's consecration but also as an occasion to remember the historical contribution of the Osborn family to Christian ministry in Uganda.

For the Museveni family, the encounter also carried a personal dimension, with the First Lady's recollection of prayers and Bibles shared with the family decades ago demonstrating how religious relationships can endure across generations.

The forthcoming consecration of Pastor Patience Rwabwogo as a Bishop is expected to be an important event for Uganda's Christian community, bringing together religious leaders and believers to witness her elevation to the episcopal office.

President Museveni's meeting with Bishop Dr. LaDonna Osborn has consequently highlighted the intersection of Uganda's political, religious and historical journey, while reaffirming the longstanding friendship between the Museveni and Osborn families.

As Dr. Osborn participates in the consecration ceremonies, her return to Uganda marks another chapter in a relationship that began more than four decades ago and has remained rooted in faith, friendship and shared memories.
