Christianity Focus Ministries Hosts 19th National Prayer Day and Night to Usher in 2026 at Old Kampala
Christianity Focus Ministries has announced the 19th Annual National Prayer Day and Night, scheduled to take place on December 31, 2025, at the Old Kampala Senior Secondary School playground, bringing together thousands of worshippers from across Uganda and beyond to usher in the New Year 2026 in prayer.
The highly anticipated annual event will be held under the theme “Thou shalt smite the Midianites as one man” (Judges 6:16) and is expected to run continuously from 8:00 a.m. on December 31st through the night into January 1, 2026.
According to the organizers, the National Prayer Day has grown into one of Uganda’s largest faith based gatherings, attracting an estimated 50,000 attendees in person, with more than 10 million viewers and listeners following the event through live broadcasts on 93 Kingdom FM, Kingdom Television (KTV), and various social media platforms.
Speaking on the significance of the event, the hosts Bishop Dr. David Kiganda and his pastoral team noted that the prayer gathering provides Ugandans with an opportunity to give thanks to God, seek divine guidance, and pray for national peace, security, and socio economic transformation as the country transitions into a new year.
Organizers highlighted that for the past 18 consecutive years, the National Prayer Day has impacted thousands of lives, with many participants sharing testimonies of personal transformation, healing, and breakthrough after choosing to end and begin their years in prayer.
This year’s event comes at a critical time as Uganda prepares for the 2026 general elections. Special prayers will be dedicated to national unity, peaceful elections, strong democratic values, and the emergence of God-fearing leaders.
The ministry also announced that prayers will be offered for the country’s economy and overall stability.
In addition to preaching, prophecy, and extended prayer sessions led by invited men and women of God, the event will feature anointing services, intercessory prayers for government leaders at both district and national levels, and a blood donation drive aimed at supporting national health needs.
Attendees will also have an opportunity to win prizes during and at the close of the event.
Christianity Focus Ministries has extended an open invitation to all Ugandans and people of other nationalities to attend the prayer gathering and take part in welcoming the New Year in faith.
The organizers concluded by calling on the public to join them at Old Kampala, expressing hope that the gathering will usher blessings for individuals, the nation of Uganda, Africa, and the world.
