Gen. Muhoozi Urges American Superstar Tyrese Gibson to Make Uganda His Second Home
Gen. Muhoozi made the remarks during his meeting with Gibson, who is in Uganda for a three-day visit aimed at promoting the country's tourism and coffee sectors.
Chief of Defence Forces Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba has urged American actor and singer Tyrese Gibson to consider Uganda his second home and use his international influence to encourage more African Americans to visit the country.

Gen. Muhoozi made the remarks during his meeting with Gibson, who is in Uganda for a three-day visit aimed at promoting the country's tourism and coffee sectors.
The CDF welcomed Gibson's presence in Uganda and encouraged the American superstar to develop a lasting relationship with the country by returning regularly and helping to introduce Uganda's attractions, culture, coffee and investment opportunities to audiences in the United States and beyond.
“I told him to consider Uganda as his second home and bring more of our black brothers and sisters in America to visit,” Gen. Muhoozi said following the meeting.
Gibson's visit comes at a time when Uganda is stepping up efforts to promote coffee not only as an agricultural export but also as part of the country's tourism experience.
The actor and singer is participating in activities surrounding the launch of Explore Uganda Coffee Tourism, an initiative bringing together the Uganda Tourism Board, Kampala Capital City Authority, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Africa Coffee Park.
The campaign seeks to promote Uganda's coffee culture and value chain while linking coffee experiences with the country's natural attractions, cultural heritage and tourism destinations.
During his visit, Gibson is expected to engage with coffee farmers, participate in a coffee-tree planting activity and visit the Africa Coffee Park in Ntungamo District in western Uganda.
He is also scheduled to experience some of Uganda's major tourist attractions, including the Source of the Nile.
His programme has also included high-level engagements with Ugandan leaders. Gibson held talks with President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni at State House Entebbe, where discussions focused on tourism, socio-economic transformation and possible future investment opportunities.

Gibson's involvement in Uganda's coffee and tourism promotion is significant because of his international profile and extensive following in the entertainment industry.
Best known for his role as Roman Pearce in the Fast & Furious film franchise, Gibson has also established himself as a successful recording artist. His music career has earned him a substantial international audience, giving him a platform that Ugandan tourism and coffee promoters hope can help expose the country's products and destinations to new markets.
Organisers, including Inspire Coffee Group, are seeking to use Gibson's global visibility to promote Ugandan coffee, particularly in the United States, while also encouraging international visitors to explore Uganda.
The CDF's appeal for Gibson to make Uganda his second home therefore adds a broader cultural and people-to-people dimension to the visit.
By encouraging the American star to return to Uganda and bring other African Americans with him, Gen. Muhoozi is positioning Gibson's visit as more than a celebrity appearance, but as an opportunity to strengthen cultural connections between Uganda and the African diaspora in the United States.
Gibson's presence is also expected to raise the international profile of the upcoming Africa Coffee Marathon, where he is set to feature as a headliner.
The event is part of wider efforts to connect Uganda's coffee industry with tourism, entertainment and international audiences.
Uganda has increasingly sought to diversify its tourism promotion by presenting visitors with experiences that go beyond wildlife and traditional sightseeing. Coffee tourism offers visitors an opportunity to see how coffee is grown, interact with farmers, learn about processing and value addition, and experience the communities and landscapes where the crop is produced.
For Uganda, Gibson's visit provides an opportunity to tell that story through a globally recognised personality.
His engagement with Ugandan farmers and tourism sites could also help demonstrate the connection between agriculture, tourism and international markets, particularly at a time when Uganda is seeking greater value from its coffee industry.
The visit further comes as the Government continues to market Uganda as a destination for tourism, investment and cultural exchange.
Gen. Muhoozi's message to Gibson reflects the country's desire to build long-term relationships with influential members of the African diaspora and encourage them to discover Uganda firsthand.
With Gibson now experiencing Uganda's coffee, culture, scenery and hospitality, Ugandan officials and tourism stakeholders hope his visit will translate into greater international awareness of the country and increased interest among potential visitors and investors.
The American superstar's stay is therefore being viewed not simply as a celebrity tour, but as an opportunity to use entertainment and global influence to promote Uganda's tourism brand, coffee industry and investment potential to a wider international audience.

For Gen. Muhoozi, the message is clear: Uganda welcomes Gibson not merely as a visitor, but as a potential ambassador for the country's tourism, coffee and cultural heritage.
“Consider Uganda your second home,” is the invitation the CDF has extended to the American superstar — with the hope that Gibson will return and encourage more members of the African diaspora in America to discover Uganda for themselves.
