Apostle Grace Lubega Condemns Rising Drug Abuse Among Students at Phaneroo Inter-Schools Conference

Apostle Grace Lubega, the Vision Bearer of Phaneroo Ministries International, has strongly condemned the growing cases of drug abuse among young people, warning that the trend poses a serious threat to the future of Uganda’s generation.

He made the remarks on Saturday while addressing thousands of students during the 4th edition of the Phaneroo Inter Schools Conference held at the Phaneroo Grounds in Naguru, Kampala.

In his sermon titled “The Prayer of Every Witness,” Apostle Lubega expressed concern that many children are being exposed to harmful behaviors at an alarmingly early age.

He noted that some students as young as 13 and 14 are increasingly falling victim to substance abuse, which he said is undermining their potential and purpose in life.

“Many young people are growing up in environments that expose them to destructive influences, yet God has placed great purpose inside them,” he said.

“They need guidance, mentorship, and spiritual grounding to overcome these pressures.”

Preaching from Acts Chapter 4, Apostle Lubega drew lessons from the disciples of Jesus Christ, who, despite facing opposition, chose to seek strength through prayer rather than fear.

He highlighted verses 26 to 29, emphasizing that prayer empowers believers with boldness and resilience in difficult circumstances.

He encouraged students to resist peer pressure and instead commit themselves to discipline, faith, and positive values. He also called upon parents, schools, and religious institutions to take a more active role in mentoring young people and protecting them from harmful influences.

The annual Inter Schools Conference has become one of Phaneroo’s biggest youth outreach events, bringing together students from various schools across the country for spiritual guidance, mentorship, and character building.

Many students who attended described the message as timely and impactful, saying it challenged them to make better life choices and focus on their purpose.
