FAITH OF UNITY FOUNDER OMUKAMA BISAKA HONOURED FOR FOUR DECADES OF PEACE AND UNITY WORK
A delegation of Ugandans living abroad, alongside an NRM Secretariat mobilisation team, recognised Omukama Ruhanga Owobusobozi Bisaka during prayers at the Faith's Kapyemi headquarters, citing his decades-long effort to unite people across religious, cultural, and tribal lines.
.KAPYEMI, Muhororo Subcounty, Kagadi District- Omukama Ruhanga Owobusobozi Bisaka, founder and head of the Faith of Unity-Itambiro, has been recognised as a global figure in peacebuilding and unity, in a tribute delivered during prayers held at the Faith's headquarters in Kapyemi.
The recognition came from Ugandans living abroad, who pointed to Bisaka's special and outstanding contribution to promoting unity, peace, and social development over the last four decades. Organisers described the moment as a high point reflecting the Faith of Unity's broader mission of bringing people together across religious belief, culture, and tribe.
The tribute was delivered by a team led by Kazibwe Jamil of the Mobilisation Directorate at the NRM Secretariat, alongside a delegation from Canada and England led by Buyiiza Steve. Addressing the gathering, the visiting delegation laid out the scope of Bisaka's work and the Faith's role in uniting communities across the globe regardless of size or standing, crediting this work with contributing meaningfully to social transformation and development.
The delegation singled out Bisaka's success in uniting people across denominational lines and his promotion of peace through what the Faith describes as the healing of bodily and spiritual ailments, work they said has instilled discipline and a strong work ethic among believers and non-believers alike.
Among the practices highlighted was the Faith's distinctive calendar, which allocates more working days than days set aside for rest or prayer. Followers credit this structure with building discipline and contributing to swifter development, both within the Faith and in the wider country, an ethic reinforced by Bisaka's long-standing counsel to members to establish small-scale domestic industries as a path to self-reliance.
Since its founding, the Faith of Unity has expanded to more than 4,000 prayer centres, known as Amatambiro, spread across 35 dioceses worldwide, referred to within the Faith as Obukwenda.
The movement's growth and influence have not gone unnoticed at the highest levels of government. President Yoweri Museveni has previously commended the Faith of Unity for cultivating discipline, unity, and hard work among its followers, a recognition that echoes the praise delivered by the visiting delegation at Kapyemi.
