The announcement was made by the Principal Spokesperson of Bukuka, Mr. Steven Masiga, who called upon individuals, companies, organizations, cooperatives, and business groups interested in marketing and selling their products during the cultural festivities to begin preparing for the allocation exercise.
MBALE, Uganda – The Office of the Principal Spokesperson of Bukuka has announced that the allocation and distribution of exhibition pitches and business spaces at the Mutoto Cultural Grounds will commence in July 2026 ahead of the highly anticipated Imbalu Launch ceremony.
The announcement was made by the Principal Spokesperson of Bukuka, Hon. Steven Masiga, who called upon individuals, companies, organizations, cooperatives, and business groups interested in marketing and selling their products during the cultural festivities to begin preparing for the allocation exercise.
According to Masiga, the Imbalu Launch is one of the most significant cultural events in eastern Uganda, attracting thousands of visitors from across the country and beyond. The event presents a unique opportunity for businesses to showcase their products and services to a large and diverse audience.
“The office of the Spokesperson Bukuka wishes to inform the general public that the allocation and distribution of exhibition stalls and business spaces at Mutoto Cultural Grounds is about to commence. Those who intend to market or sell their products during the upcoming Imbalu Launch should take advantage of this opportunity,” Masiga said.
He revealed that interest in exhibition space has already been overwhelming, with several companies, business groups, and organizations having booked and paid for space in advance. However, he noted that a limited number of pitches remain available for allocation.
The annual Imbalu Launch serves as the official commencement of the Bamasaaba circumcision season and is celebrated with cultural performances, traditional ceremonies, exhibitions, tourism activities, and business showcases. The event continues to grow in stature, attracting local and international visitors while creating opportunities for trade, investment, and cultural exchange.
Masiga also issued a strong warning to members of the public regarding fraudulent individuals who may attempt to collect money illegally while pretending to represent the cultural institution.
“We further warn the public not to make payments to unauthorized persons. Anybody who may have paid money to unauthorized individuals should immediately get in touch with the Office of the Spokesperson Bukuka through telephone number 0782231577. We shall work closely with security agencies and investigators to manage the situation and ensure that fraudsters are brought to book,” he emphasized.
To safeguard exhibitors and ensure transparency in the allocation process, Masiga clarified that all official payments for exhibition space will only be made through authorized banking channels. Details of the designated banks and payment procedures will be officially communicated by Bukuka in due course.
The spokesperson urged prospective exhibitors to remain vigilant, verify all information through official channels, and avoid making payments before receiving formal guidance from the cultural institution.
As preparations for the 2026 Imbalu Launch gather momentum, organizers are optimistic that this year's event will surpass previous editions in attendance and participation. The celebrations are expected to provide a major boost to tourism, commerce, cultural preservation, and community development in the Bugisu sub-region.
The Mutoto Cultural Grounds, regarded as the spiritual and cultural home of the Bamasaaba people, are expected to host thousands of guests, dignitaries, cultural leaders, tourists, and traders during the launch, making the exhibition spaces highly sought after.
Interested exhibitors have therefore been encouraged to secure the remaining available spaces once the official allocation exercise begins and to follow all guidelines issued by the Office of the Principal Spokesperson Bukuka.
