UGANDA - Kitara FC(1st) host Mbarara City FC(2nd) at Kigaaya primary School Playground in Hoima District on Thursday 13th April, 2023 in the battle of Supremacy in the FUFA Big League with only 6 games left.

Kitara FC President, Deo Kasozi Aheebwa:

“Promotion is the main target as we need to make our fans happy. Though Ndejje equalized late and made life difficult in the 2-2 draw, we have to beat the Ankole Lions because we are the Pride of Bunyoro.” He made the remarks at Ndejje University after the 2-2 draw with Kitara FC on the 6th April, 2023. Hon. Mpaka Mwine, owner of Mbarara City FC and legislator, representing Mbarara City South in the 11th parliament of Uganda:

“I’m happy to see football being promoted at all corners of the country and this competition is healthy for sports development and promotion of the Sports sub-sector,” he intimated to our reporter John Kusolo in an exclusive interview.

Kitara FC’s main objective is to regain promotion to the Uganda Premier League in the next campaign which looks achievable as Kitara FC players remain focused in the remaining 6 games to make it happen. However, they face a daunting task as Mbarara City FC is equally ambitious to regain promotion to the top flight.

Six months after joining Kitara football from URA football club, Moses Sseluyidde has continued to showcase his creative flair in the Fufa big league. He may not be synonymous with goal getting, but the left footed midfielder has been as effective in creating them.

In fact, Patrick Kaddu who left the club for greener pastures in Kenya as Kitara’s top scorer with 15 goals owed a percentage of them to Sseluyidde’s creativity.

His effortless midfield displays have been pivotal to the Royals’ dominance this season, he has so far contributed 9 assists and 3 goals in 22 matches. Sseluyidde was the hero in the Royals’ 1-0 win over Police FC after powering in a beautiful free kick past the Cops keeper Davis Mutebi in the 62nd minute. The win didn’t only open up a 6-point lead over Police but also helped his side to reclaim top spot on the log, taking them to 46 points.

The former Kira United player missed the opening game versus Northern Gateway before making his full debut and providing Kaddu’s opener in our 3-1 win over Jinja North Utd at Kigaaya.
