KAMPALA - Najam Saifee Japan, Director Uptraining Consultancy Limited, Kampala, discusses the impact of beliefs on the outcomes we achieve in life. Najam Japan defines what beliefs are.

Beliefs are our perceptions of ourselves, others, and the world around us. These perceptions are shaped by our upbringing, education, family values and experiences over time. They determine how we interact with the outside world and influence our thoughts and actions.

Some beliefs are empowering and serve as positive encouragement, while others are limiting and hold us back from growing and taking action. Limiting beliefs become our excuse for not pursuing our goals and keep us from achieving our full potential. They become our narrative, the story we tell ourselves every day, and the more we tell ourselves these stories, the more they become our reality.

It is easier to create a story to justify our current situation than to act and change it. However, Najam shares a simple yet powerful technique to overcome limiting beliefs, which he calls A.I.R (Awareness, Impact, Reframe).

The first step is Awareness. Take a step back and identify your limiting beliefs. What stories are you telling yourself that hold you back? Write down at least five personal and professional beliefs.

The second step is Impact. Note down the impact these beliefs have on your life. What are they preventing you from achieving? By doing this, you can see the negative consequences of your limiting beliefs.

The third step is Reframe. Reframe means seeing the same situation from a different perspective. Challenge your beliefs by identifying a counter-fact, a different perspective that challenges your limiting belief. Make the reframe more powerful by supporting it with evidence.

For instance, if you believe that you cannot start a business because you will fail, challenge that belief by recognizing that you have succeeded in the past by trying new things, such as taking up a new role at work. This will help you see that what you believed was just a belief and not a fact.

In conclusion, Najam Japan encourages you to become aware of your limiting beliefs and their impact on your life. Reframe your beliefs and challenge them to achieve your full potential. With the right mindset, you can achieve anything you set your mind to.

Eliminating limiting beliefs can be a powerful tool for individuals and organizations to achieve their goals and reach their full potential. In corporate Uganda, limiting beliefs can hold people back from pursuing their ambitions, taking risks, and achieving success.

To address this issue, a program has been designed to help the people of Uganda shed their limiting beliefs in the corporate world. This includes a variety of activities such as workshops, training sessions, coaching, and mentoring.

The program starts by identifying the most common limiting beliefs in the corporate world in Uganda. These could include beliefs such as "I'm not good enough," "I don't have enough experience," or "I'm not smart enough." Once these limiting beliefs are identified, the program provides tools and techniques to help individuals overcome them.

Workshops are designed to help individuals identify their own limiting beliefs and replace them with empowering beliefs. They could also provide practical strategies for building confidence, such as practicing self-care, setting achievable goals, and celebrating small successes.

Coaching and mentoring is also an important part of the program. A coach or mentor works with individuals to identify their limiting beliefs and help them develop a plan for overcoming them. They also provide ongoing support and encouragement as individuals work to shed their limiting beliefs and achieve their goals.

Overall, Najam believes this program will help the people of Uganda shed their limiting beliefs in the corporate world and have a powerful impact on individuals and organizations. By providing individuals with the tools and support they need to overcome their limiting beliefs, they can unlock their full potential and achieve greater success in their careers and personal lives.
