SERERE - The NRM vice chairperson for Eastern Uganda Hon. Capt. George Micheal Mukula says he chose not to support the NRM flagbearer Phillip Oucor because of the dynamics in Teso politics and congratulated Emmanuel Omoding upon his victory in the just concluded by-election in Serere County. The NRM flagbearer, Phillip Oucor was beaten by over 2000 votes by Emmanuel Omoding, an independent in the race who garnered 15,638 votes against Oucor's 13,206.

Capt. Mike Mukula says NRM won because they emerged first and second and wondered why some NRM Members like Dr. Tanga Odoi, the NRM EC Chairperson is accusing him of being the reason why NRM lost.

Capt. Mukula said that Dr. Tanga Odoi's statements about him ordering Oucor to hand over the flag to Omoding are nonsense and hogwash. He advised Dr. Tanga Odoi and other NRM members to avoid attacking your own without substance and promised to brief the hierarchy of the NRM party during the next CEC meeting.

"One or two elements are sometimes reckless and will be dealt with internally. I do not respond to Tanga Odoi, he is below me," Capt. Mukula revealed. At the hierarchy of the system, Dr. Tanga Odoi is under the Secretary General of NRM.

Mike Mukula says African culture has sentiments. "It would have been futile for me to mourn the late MP and then say nasty words against his family. I am a Christian," Mukula emphasized. In politics it's not right that matters but what appears to be right. In Serere NRM was not a threat according to Mukula but the differences within the party threatened to tear the party apart.

" Ask yourself why the NRM SG was absent, many ministers, MPs," he wondered. He advised Dr. Tanga Odoi to be embracive, not combative, and to think before he talks.

"I want you to learn democracy. We have been in it longer than you. Individual merit will take time to melt out. It still prevails. The Vice President of Uganda H. E. Hon. Maj(Rtd) Jessica Alupo is independent and the Chairman NRM appointed him," Mukula explained.

" Let nobody claim to know my house better than me. I know Teso politics," Capt. Mukula added. He called upon NRM members to reorganize internal democracy, realign and improve to have consultations before the primaries in order to avoid differences. He says because of his efforts in the Teso region through the support of the NRM party, since 2006 they have recaptured it from FDC who won 16 out of 32 constituencies but is now a NRM stronghold.

Meanwhile, Captain Mike Mukula revealed that his Company, Mahathi Infra Uganda Ltd was granted exclusive rights to transport petroleum products on the waters of Lake Victoria.

Mahathi Infra Uganda Ltd is a local subsidiary of the India-based Mahathi Infra Services Private Ltd. The Kawuku fuel terminal and Lake Victoria fuel Transportation facility has 14 fuel reservoirs, the largest in the country and each tank stores 900 million litres and two fuel badgers which have the capacity to carry 4.5 million litres of various fuel products per ship at any given time.

He also revealed that through his Mediheal Group of Hospitals, Uganda is set to produce 100m syringes daily, the largest syringe factory in sub Saharan Africa. It has a capacity warehouse of 130m*50m .

It will also have MRI, CT, and PET scan machines and will ease on patients who travel particularly to Aga Khan hospital in Kenya for a PET scan.
