Uganda National Bureau of Standards Certifies Jubilee Dental with ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Standard

KAMPALA – The Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS) has awarded ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems (QMS) certification to Jubilee Dental following the successful completion of a rigorous audit of its management systems.

The certification confirms that Jubilee Dental’s quality management framework complies with the internationally recognized ISO 9001:2015 standard developed by the International Organization for Standardization. The standard sets out criteria for consistent service delivery, enhanced customer satisfaction, risk-based thinking, and continual improvement across organizations.

Commitment to Quality and Patient Safety

Speaking at the award ceremony, UNBS Deputy Executive Director in charge of Standards, Ms. Patricia Bageine Ejalu, applauded Jubilee Dental for its deliberate investment in building and sustaining a robust quality management system centered on patient safety, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement.

She described the certification as a clear indicator of the dental facility’s commitment to delivering services that consistently meet both customer expectations and regulatory requirements.

“The award of ISO 9001:2015 certification demonstrates Jubilee Dental’s dedication to structured quality systems, competent personnel, and effective processes that ensure reliable and safe dental care,” Ms. Ejalu noted.

She further revealed that more than 80 companies in Uganda have so far attained Management Systems Certification from UNBS under various standards. These include Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001), Food Safety Management Systems, Environmental Management Systems, and Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems, among others.

According to Ms. Ejalu, organizations that adopt certified management systems benefit from improved operational efficiency, better risk management, strengthened regulatory compliance, and enhanced credibility in the marketplace. She encouraged more institutions, particularly in the health sector, to pursue certification as a pathway to competitiveness and sustained growth.

Jubilee Dental Hails Milestone

Jubilee Dental’s Executive Director, Dr. James Magara, expressed gratitude to UNBS for guiding the institution through the certification journey. He said the process had not only validated the clinic’s systems but also strengthened its internal structures.

Dr. Magara noted that as the organization engaged more deeply with the ISO 9001 framework, it increasingly recognized the long-term value of standardization in streamlining operations, improving service delivery, and enhancing overall performance.

He emphasized that the certification marks a new chapter for Jubilee Dental, reinforcing its commitment to providing safe, reliable, and patient-centered dental services in line with international best practices.
