The New England Revolution have officially announced the signing of Allan Oyirwoth, a 17-year-old central midfielder with international experience playing for Uganda's Senior National Team, The Cranes. The deal, which will take effect on Oyirwoth’s 18th birthday, January 23, 2025, runs through the 2028 Major League Soccer (MLS) season, with an additional club option for 2029.

Oyirwoth, who hails from Amor, Pakwach in Uganda, is considered one of the most exciting young talents to emerge from East Africa. The right-footed midfielder’s meteoric rise to prominence reflects his talent, work ethic, and versatility on the pitch. Revolution Sporting Director Curt Onalfo expressed the club's enthusiasm, stating, "Allan Oyirwoth is one of the top prospects out of Uganda and a very promising young midfielder. We are excited to get Allan into our high-potential training environment in New England and help him fulfill his potential.”

Allan Oyirwoth’s journey began in his hometown of Amor, Pakwach, where he honed his skills with local clubs such as Amor Young Heroes and Pakwach Super Eagles. He later rose to prominence with Amus College School, where his performances earned him widespread recognition.

In March 2023, Oyirwoth was named the Teso Zone MVP after leading the goal-scoring charts in the zonal school competition. This was followed by a remarkable performance in May 2023 at the USSSA National Football Championship, where he emerged as the top scorer and tournament MVP. That same year, he led the goal-scoring charts at both the International Schools Football (ISF) Championship in Morocco and the Federation of East African Secondary Schools Sports Association (FEASSSA) Games.

His standout performances extended to the Buganda Masaza Cup, where he claimed the MVP award while representing Club Gomba in October 2023. He also played a pivotal role in leading Amus College to the finals of the National Football Championship, earning another MVP accolade. These accomplishments followed his earlier successes in 2022, when he won the East African Football Championship and the Ateker Cup.

In February 2024, Oyirwoth took a significant step in his career, joining Brooke House College and Academy in Leicester, England, for a six-month development stint. This opportunity placed him in an elite training environment linked to several Premier League clubs, further honing his skills. International Experience:

A Rising Crane Oyirwoth's stellar performances at the youth level earned him a call-up to Uganda's Senior National Team. He made his debut on November 21, 2023, in a FIFA World Cup Qualifier against Somalia, where he recorded an assist during a 67-minute shift. He made his second appearance for The Cranes in a friendly against Kuwait on January 19, 2024. Additionally, he represented the Uganda U-20 Men’s National Team at the 13th African Games, scoring against Senegal and playing a key role in a 2-1 victory over Nigeria.

Joining the Revolution

 At 6'1" and 165 pounds, Oyirwoth is an athletic, technically gifted midfielder whose style of play aligns with the demands of MLS. Head Coach Caleb Porter highlighted the youngster’s potential, saying, “Allan is a talented young midfielder with a tremendous upside. At only 17, Allan is gifted technically and has a frame and range athletically that profiles well for MLS. With time to develop in our training environment, I’m confident he can blossom into an impact midfielder for our first team.”

Oyirwoth becomes the second-youngest member of the Revolution's first-team roster as they prepare for the 2025 MLS season. The club’s commitment to nurturing young talent places Oyirwoth in an ideal environment to maximize his potential.
