Haji Difee Abdullah Donates Maize Flour to Widows, Elderly and PWDs in Bugusege

Hundreds of vulnerable residents in Bugusege Town Council, Sironko District, have benefited from a humanitarian donation of maize flour extended by Haji Difee Abdullah, the National Resistance Movement (NRM) Chairperson for Sironko Town Council.

The donation, which targeted widows, elderly persons and Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), was intended to provide food relief to vulnerable households facing challenges associated with food insecurity and the rising cost of living.

The distribution exercise was held in Bugusege in an event organised by Kadidi, attracting hundreds of beneficiaries and other community members who gathered to receive the food assistance.

Beneficiaries, many of whom face difficulties meeting their daily household needs, welcomed the intervention with songs of appreciation and gratitude to the donor.

Speaking during the handover, Haji Difee Abdullah said supporting vulnerable members of society remains an important part of his commitment to community service.

He noted that elderly persons, widows, mothers and people living with disabilities deserve attention and support from leaders and other members of the community, particularly during difficult economic times.

"Our mothers, our elderly, our widows and our brothers and sisters living with disabilities need us. Today we have brought this small support of maize flour to show them we care and we are together. This is what NRM teaches us to serve the people," Haji Difee Abdullah said.

He emphasised the importance of sharing with disadvantaged members of society, noting that leadership should also be reflected through practical efforts to respond to the needs of ordinary people.

The maize flour donation was therefore presented as a humanitarian gesture aimed at helping beneficiary households meet some of their immediate food requirements.

Kadidi Commends Haji Difee for Supporting Vulnerable Residents

The organising team, led by Kadidi, thanked Haji Difee Abdullah for responding positively to their appeal and extending assistance to vulnerable residents of Bugusege Town Council.

The organisers said the donation had brought relief to households that often struggle to secure adequate food, particularly widows, elderly persons and people living with disabilities.

They also appreciated the donor for recognising the challenges faced by disadvantaged members of the community and taking an initiative to support them.

Beneficiaries Welcome Food Relief

Several beneficiaries expressed appreciation for the donation, explaining that the maize flour would help ease the pressure on their household food requirements.

Some of the elderly residents and widows noted that access to basic food supplies remains a challenge for many vulnerable families, with some households struggling to afford regular meals.

They thanked Haji Difee Abdullah for remembering their plight and extending support to them, describing the donation as timely assistance.

The beneficiaries also called for continued attention to the welfare of vulnerable people, particularly those without reliable sources of income or adequate family support.

Leaders Call for More Community Support

Local leaders who attended the exercise commended Haji Difee Abdullah for the humanitarian initiative and encouraged other leaders, well-wishers and members of the community to support vulnerable households.

They observed that addressing the challenges faced by widows, elderly persons and PWDs requires collective responsibility, with individuals and community leaders playing a role in improving the welfare of disadvantaged residents.

The leaders further highlighted the importance of community-based interventions in complementing broader efforts to address poverty, food insecurity and other social challenges affecting households.

The event concluded with prayers and expressions of appreciation from the elderly residents, widows and other beneficiaries who attended the distribution exercise.

Haji Difee Abdullah's donation adds to the community-level humanitarian activities aimed at extending support to vulnerable groups in Bugusege Town Council, with beneficiaries hoping that similar initiatives will continue to reach households in need.
