NRM Unites Behind Hajati Faridah Nambi in a Bold Move to Conquer Kawempe North By-Election!

The ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) party has officially endorsed Hajati Faridah Nambi as its flag bearer for the upcoming Kawempe North by-election, scheduled for March 13, 2025.
The by-election comes following the passing of Hon. Muhammad Ssegirinya, who previously held the seat. Six candidates had initially expressed interest in representing the NRM in the race. However, four contenders stepped down in support of Nambi, while one, Juliet Namale, rejected the party’s decision.
The announcement was made by the NRM Electoral Commission chairperson, Dr. Tanga Odoi, who emphasized the party’s commitment to fielding a strong candidate capable of winning the constituency.
Hajati Nambi’s endorsement positions her as a key contender in the race as she seeks to secure the seat for the ruling party in a constituency traditionally considered an opposition stronghold.
The by-election is expected to draw significant political interest, with other parties yet to unveil their candidates. The Electoral Commission has already set March 13 as the official polling date.
As the campaign period begins, all eyes will be on Kawempe North to see whether the NRM can clinch victory in the highly competitive race.
