Rotary District Governor Geoffrey Martin Kitakule Commends Kampala South and Sonde Rotary Clubs for Exemplary Service
In his remarks throughout the day, DG Kitakule reiterated the importance of not only implementing community projects but also amplifying their impact through storytelling and outreach. He urged clubs to continue serving with integrity, leading with vision, and sharing the Rotary story far and wide.

Rotarian Geoffrey Martin Kitakule, the District Governor of Rotary District 9213, embarked on a significant and inspiring series of engagements on Monday, 7th July 2025, highlighting the power of leadership, service, and community transformation through Rotary’s values.
A Night of Legacy and New Leadership in Kampala South
In the evening, DG Kitakule made an official visit to the Rotary Club of Kampala South, a club he fondly described as “one of the most excellent clubs in our district and my own club as a proud member.” The visit was especially momentous as it coincided with the club’s installation ceremony, marking a leadership transition steeped in Rotary tradition.
Presiding over the event, DG Kitakule extended heartfelt congratulations to Rtn. Faridah Namutebi, the newly installed 34th President of Kampala South Rotary Club, and her incoming board. He praised the ceremony for its seamless execution and the strong sense of commitment demonstrated by club members.
“I had the honour to preside over the club’s installation ceremony, witnessing firsthand the seamless leadership transition and the deep commitment to service that defines this remarkable club,” said DG Kitakule.
He encouraged the club to continue leading by example under the theme “Unite for Good”, reaffirming his support for a successful Rotary year filled with impactful projects and strengthened community bonds.
A Morning of Inspiration at Rotary Club of Sonde
Earlier that same day, DG Kitakule paid a visit to the Rotary Club of Sonde, one of the vibrant clubs in District 9213.
His visit came ahead of the club’s official fellowship, but it was clear that the projects undertaken by the club had already made a lasting impression.
He toured several community projects spearheaded by the club, including:
Bukerere Health Centre II, a vital healthcare facility nearing completion, expected to significantly improve access to health services in the community.
The Cerebral Palsy Project, which offers much-needed care and support to children with disabilities and their families.
A community library, designed to serve as a knowledge hub for children and adults alike, fostering education and lifelong learning.
“I was deeply impressed by the impactful projects they’ve undertaken,” DG Kitakule remarked. “A health centre that will save lives, a cerebral palsy initiative that offers dignity and care, and a library that will empower generations through knowledge—this is what Rotary is all about.”
He lauded the Sonde Rotarians for living the spirit of Rotary, noting that their passion and dedication are a testament to the Rotary motto: Service Above Self.
A Call to Action: Serve, Lead, and Tell Our Story
In his remarks throughout the day, DG Kitakule reiterated the importance of not only implementing community projects but also amplifying their impact through storytelling and outreach. He urged clubs to continue serving with integrity, leading with vision, and sharing the Rotary story far and wide.
“Let’s continue to serve, to lead, and most importantly—to tell our Rotary story,” he emphasized.
As the 2025/26 Rotary year begins in earnest, District Governor Geoffrey Martin Kitakule’s engagements on July 7th have set a high bar for dedication, visibility, and unity among clubs in Rotary District 9213. His message was clear: Rotary’s impact is greatest when we lead by example, collaborate with purpose, and uplift our communities with compassion.
