A Life-Changing Win: Mr. Kyeyune Godfrey Drives Away an Electric Vehicle in Linglong and City Tyres Grand Draw

In a remarkable event showcasing the commitment of Linglong Tyre and City Tyres (Mandela Group) to sustainability and customer appreciation, Mr. Kyeyune Godfrey, a lecturer, engineer, and experienced businessman in the transport sector, officially received an electric vehicle during a special handover ceremony.
The event was presided over by Mr. Huang, the president of Linglong Tyre, alongside representatives from the Mandela Group, including the founder, Hajji Mandela, and several staff members.
The ceremony took place on Saturday at one of City Tyres' branches in Kamwokya. Mr. Kyeyune, who has over 10 years of experience in the transport industry, attended the event with his family. Speaking at the ceremony, he shared his disbelief upon receiving the call about his win, recalling his skepticism due to past experiences with scams.
"I was contacted by one of the managers of City Tyres to bring my documents to their offices in the industrial area. At first, I doubted it was real, but today, I am standing here with my family to witness this moment," he said.
Mr. Huang, who traveled from China for the occasion, expressed his appreciation for the long-standing partnership between Linglong Tyre and City Tyres. He emphasized Linglong's dedication to environmental conservation and its ambition to keep Uganda's environment clean through the promotion of electric vehicles.
"Electric vehicles are the future of transportation, especially from a climate change perspective. In China, the cost of running electric cars is 1/7th that of fuel vehicles. Uganda is a beautiful country, and we must protect its environment," Mr. Huang noted. He also hinted at potential plans for expanding Linglong's manufacturing operations to Africa in the future, adding to their existing facilities in Europe and Asia.
Highlighting Linglong Tyre's efforts to strengthen its global brand, Mr. Huang mentioned their sponsorship of prominent football clubs like Chelsea FC and Real Madrid FC in 2024. He expressed optimism about extending similar efforts in Uganda to enhance brand visibility and community engagement.
The event marked yet another milestone in Linglong and City Tyres' commitment to promoting eco-friendly transportation and rewarding their loyal customers.
