The stage is set for an exciting 2025 season of the Astra Corporate Sports Network (CSN), with corporate networking, branding, and sportsmanship taking center stage. With just days to go before the much-anticipated competitions begin, the General Manager of CSN, Mr. Charles Sempagala, has confirmed that all preparations are in place for the season’s opener at the Maroons Luzira Prison Grounds on Sunday, February 23, 2025.

Speaking in an interview, Sempagala expressed enthusiasm about the return of the tournament and revealed that the initial outing will feature only normal soccer games, as teams vie to dethrone last season’s champions, Tropical Bank. “Because it is the first outing, we shall only have normal soccer games. The 35-plus games will be contested in March alongside other disciplines,” he noted.

To ensure a smooth and well-organized event, the CSN technical team is finalizing the online registration process for participants. Team managers have been urged to carry the official lists of their players on the day of the event. Furthermore, CSN is working on a registration template to be shared with managers ahead of the competition.

For companies intending to set up tents and branding materials at the venue, the Luzira Grounds will be open for setup on Saturday evening, February 22, 2025, from 5:00 PM.

Sempagala emphasized the importance of fan engagement, stating, “The emotions are building up, and I hope that fans are ready to turn up in large numbers to watch the games this season and provide the hype and excitement that these games deserve.”

CSN has announced a well-structured activity plan for 2025, which will allow for more teams to participate while ensuring all fixtures are honored. This season will see an expansion in sports disciplines, with the inclusion of swimming and billiards (pool table) scheduled for June 8, 2025, at Hotel Africana. The decision to hold these events on this date was reached by consensus between team managers and CSN officials, considering that June 9 is a public holiday (Heroes’ Day), allowing participants ample time to enjoy the event.

The 2025 edition of the Corporate Sports Network (CSN) is shaping up to be the most exciting yet, with 40 companies already confirming their participation. More entrants are expected to join before the registration period closes at the end of the month, signaling a growing interest in corporate sports engagement.
