In a congratulatory message issued on the historic occasion, Mukesh Shukla described President Museveni’s inauguration as a significant milestone for Uganda’s democracy, stability, and continued socio-economic transformation.

“On this day(12th May 2026) of the Swearing-in and Inauguration of H.E. President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni as the duly elected President of the Republic of Uganda (2026–2031), Businessman Hon. Mukesh Shukla Babubhai and the Shumuk family join the rest of the country to heartily congratulate him upon this victory and historical milestone,” the message stated.

Mukesh Shukla Babubhai remains one of Uganda’s most recognized entrepreneurs and influential figures within the business community. Commonly associated with the renowned Shumuk brand, Mukesh has over the years built a strong reputation as an industrialist, investor, and contributor to Uganda’s economic development through employment creation, manufacturing, and strategic investments.

He heads the Shumuk Group of Companies, a diversified conglomerate with operations spanning manufacturing, real estate, hospitality, dairy processing, and financial services. The group initially rose to prominence through aluminum manufacturing under Shumuk Aluminium Industries Ltd, which became one of the leading producers of aluminum utensils and household products in the country.

Over the years, the Shumuk Group has steadily expanded its footprint across several sectors of Uganda’s economy. Its portfolio includes commercial properties such as the well-known Shumuk House, warehouse facilities, hospitality investments including Hotel Diplomate, as well as a milk-processing plant aimed at strengthening Uganda’s agro-industrial value chain.

In recent years, the group has also ventured into the automotive sector, unveiling a multi-billion-shilling investment in a modern car depot in Nakawa, further underscoring its commitment to expanding Uganda’s industrial and commercial capacity.

Mukesh Shukla is also recognized among Uganda’s top taxpayers, with many in the business sector applauding his contribution toward national revenue mobilization, industrialization, and job creation. His investments have provided employment opportunities to thousands of Ugandans while supporting government efforts aimed at economic growth and private sector development.
