CHAN PAMOJA 2024: Digital-Only Ticketing Announced for Uganda’s Group C Matches

Uganda is in the final stages of preparations to co-host the 8th edition of the African Nations Championship (CHAN), officially branded as the TotalEnergies CAF CHAN PAMOJA 2024, a major continental football tournament exclusively featuring players who ply their trade in their home country’s domestic leagues. This historic tournament, taking place under the PAMOJA partnership between Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania, kicks off on Saturday, August 2, 2024, and will run through to Saturday, August 30, 2024.
Uganda will host Group C, which comprises Algeria (The Greens), Guinea (The National Elephants), Niger (The Menas), South Africa, and the hosts themselves, Uganda Cranes. All Group C matches, as well as a quarter-final, a semi-final, and the third-place playoff, will be played at the 32,000-seater Mandela National Stadium – Namboole, newly refurbished and ready to welcome fans from across the continent.

Alternatively, ticket seekers can scan a QR code on promotional materials to access the same link via their smartphones.
Once on the website, users can choose to book tickets for matches in Uganda, Tanzania, or Kenya. Under Uganda’s listing, fixtures for Namboole will be displayed, and fans can proceed to select seats and purchase tickets for the group stage matches.

Each match day will feature either one or two games. A single ticket covers all matches for the day; for example, fans attending the 5 p.m. match can stay on to watch the 8 p.m. game without paying extra. However, re-entry is not allowed: once scanned and exited, a ticket cannot be reused the same day.

Seating Areas by Ticket Category:
Ordinary Ticket – Sections 1, 2, 8, 9, 10, 16 (Northern and Southern ends behind goalposts)
Silver Ticket – Section 5 (Eastern stand opposite VVIP section)
Premium Ticket – Sections 12 and 14 (adjacent to the VVIP section)
The ticketing platform shows a dynamic seating map, with your selected section highlighted. A seat will be held for 10 minutes during the checkout process.

Buyers are required to fill in their name, phone number, and email address. After selecting “Checkout,” a prompt is sent to the mobile device to complete payment via PIN. The ticket will then be sent via SMS (with a download link) or email.
How to Present Your Ticket Fans must either:
Print the ticket and bring it to the stadium
Present the e-ticket on their mobile device for scanning at the gates
Uganda Cranes will kick off their CHAN-2024 campaign on Monday, August 4, 2025, at 8:00 PM against Algeria. Earlier that same day at 5:00 PM, Niger will face Guinea in what promises to be an exciting opener for Group C in Uganda.

Speaking on behalf of the Communications and Signage Sub-Committee, Dr. Dennis K. Mugimba, emphasized that the guiding principle behind the pricing and ticketing framework is inclusivity and affordability.
“We want every Ugandan who desires to witness this historic football tournament at Namboole to be able to do so. CHAN 2024 is not just about football—it’s about national pride, continental unity, and giving our people a moment to remember.”
