Kigo, Uganda | 25th July 2025 — In a celebration of leadership, service, and community transformation, Kin Kariisa , Group CEO of Next Media was officially installed as the 3rd President of the Rotary Club of Kigo Seven Lakes Golf during a vibrant ceremony held today at the luxurious Serena Kigo Hotel. The installation marked a significant transition for the Club, setting the tone for a purposeful new Rotary year under the theme of impact and fellowship.

The event, attended by distinguished Rotarians, dignitaries, and leaders in business and public service, was an embodiment of Rotary's core values — fellowship, integrity, diversity, service, and leadership.

Taking over from Rtn. Jimmy Mugerwa, President Kin Kariisa expressed his deep appreciation for the foundation laid by his predecessor. In a symbolic and heartfelt gesture, Kariisa honored Mugerwa with a meticulously hand-drawn portrait, thanking him for his “remarkable service” and commitment to the Rotary ideal of Service Above Self.

Speaking during his inaugural address, President Kariisa highlighted the Club’s ongoing commitment to maternal health as one of its flagship community service projects.

“We’ve already broken ground for a new maternity ward in Ntungamo. What was initially intended as a renovation turned into a full rebuild — the need was greater than expected,” Kariisa revealed, drawing applause from the audience.

This project underscores the Club’s evolving philosophy: to not just identify need, but to respond with action that surpasses expectations.

The occasion was graced by the Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Thomas Tayebwa, to whom President Kariisa presented a treasured Rotary pin — a symbolic gesture of honor and alignment to shared values of servant leadership.

“This pin is not just an ornament,” Kariisa said. “It’s a symbol of our mutual commitment to uplift communities and invest in sustainable change.”

Another notable guest was Sylvia Mulinge, CEO of MTN Uganda, whose presence signaled the strengthening of corporate-social partnerships in driving Rotary’s mission.

“We are deeply grateful to Madam Sylvia for joining us today,” Kariisa said. “Her support reflects a synergy between Rotary and the private sector — a synergy we intend to strengthen.”

Founded with a unique identity that merges fellowship and sport, the Rotary Club of Kigo Seven Lakes Golf has quickly established itself as a powerhouse of action-oriented service. Its members, drawn from business, government, civil society, and sports, are united by a vision to leave a lasting legacy through service.

Outgoing President Jimmy Mugerwa, in his farewell remarks, expressed confidence in the Club’s future:

“With Kin at the helm, I know this Club will soar to even greater heights. His vision, energy, and dedication to service will make a difference — not just in Kigo, but far beyond.”

As the ceremony came to a close, guests mingled in a relaxed yet purposeful atmosphere, reflecting the spirit of Rotary — service wrapped in friendship.

With Kin Kariisa now steering the Club into its third chapter, expectations are high for what lies ahead. Whether in rebuilding health infrastructure in rural areas or mentoring young leaders, the new leadership has promised a year of bold initiatives, impactful partnerships, and relentless service.

Indeed, the Kigo Seven Lakes Golf Rotary Club has teed off into a new season — one not only of drives and putts, but of impact and transformation.
