Speaker Anita Among Meets Isingiro District Leaders, Lauds Strong Service Delivery and Supports Staff SACCO

The Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Anita Annet Among, on Thursday held a strategic engagement with leaders and staff of the Isingiro District Local Government ahead of receiving His Excellency the President. The meeting, which brought together district political heads, technical staff, and representatives from various departments, focused on improving service delivery and sustaining the district’s impressive performance.

Isingiro District has consistently ranked among the best-performing districts in Uganda, a recognition attributed to the commitment of its leaders and the hardworking staff who continue to uphold high standards in implementing government programmes. During her address, Speaker Among commended the officials for their dedication, integrity, and selfless service in advancing development across communities.

She highlighted that the district’s success is a result of coordinated teamwork, proper planning, and a strong sense of responsibility among both political and technical leaders. She encouraged them to maintain their focus, continue prioritizing the needs of the people, and ensure that government resources are used efficiently to benefit households.

In a move to further motivate and empower district staff, the Speaker contributed to the newly launched Isingiro District Staff SACCO. The SACCO, established to promote financial stability and offer affordable credit to workers, is expected to serve as a safety net that will enhance the welfare of staff as they carry out their duties. Her support was warmly received and seen as a gesture that strengthens the government’s commitment to improving the conditions of public servants.

Speaker Among emphasized that empowered staff deliver better services, and urged district leaders to actively promote a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement. She urged the SACCO leadership to manage the funds responsibly and ensure that it remains a reliable support system for all members.

District leaders expressed gratitude for the Speaker’s visit, acknowledging that such engagements elevate morale and reaffirm the government’s trust in local governments as essential drivers of development.
