The Federation Of All Uganda Migrant Workers' Associations ( FAUMWA) Issues Warning to Diaspora Ugandans In the Festive Season
The Federation Of All Uganda Migrant Workers' Associations, through the office of its secretary General has given an alert on safety tips for Ugandans in the Diaspora, especially in the Middle East.
On Monday, through Ms. Nsambu Sumayah the SG, a statement released by the federation indicates countries like Syria, Iraq, Israel, Lebanon, Jordan, Iran, Afghanistan, Palestine and Turkey where the very many of Ugandans work from.
The Statement Reads as Below.
TO ALL UGANDAN MIGRANT WORKERS IN SYRIA, IRAQ, ISRAEL, LEBANON, JORDAN, IRAN, AFAGHANISTAN, PALESTINE AND TURKEY
RE: SAFETY OF ALL UGANDAN MIGRANT WORKERS IN THE ABOVE STATED COUNTRIES
For a long time, there has been a number of socio-economic and political instabilities in the above states which are even traited by mass destruction of lives and property, you are thus encouraged to do the following to keep yourselves safe;
1. Avoid unnecessary movements, both during day and night times.
2. Strictly don't involve yourselves in any socio-economic or political confrontations related to the above stated instabilities.
3. Physically and or digitally report or send your details to any Ugandan embassy or consulate in the above named states through the consular department of the Ministry of foreign affairs +256782884933 or through FAUMWA +256756594638 (via whatsapp or direct calls) for any redress.
NB: AS FAUMWA, we appreciate your work and stay in the above named states, but we care most about your safety and welfare.
