UBOS REVISES RELEASE CALENDAR, SCHEDULES NEW STATISTICAL REPORTS FOR MAY 2026
The Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS) has announced a further revision of its release calendar, scheduling the publication of several key statistical reports before the end of May 2026, in a move that underscores the Bureau's drive to meet growing data demands across Uganda's statistical ecosystem.
The announcement was made during a press conference held on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at the UBOS headquarters in Kampala, where Senior Public Relations Officer Mr. Didacus Okoth addressed journalists on behalf of Executive Director Dr. Chris Mukiza.
According to Okoth, the Uganda Business Inquiry 2019/2020 report and the Uganda Harmonized Indicators Survey (UHIS) reports are both scheduled for release on May 21, 2026, while the Baseline Education Census Report 2025 will follow on May 28, 2026.
"The Bureau is also grateful to the users for embracing the already published reports and utilising them in planning and public debate," Okoth said, commending stakeholders who have already incorporated recently released statistical publications into their work.
Wednesday's press conference builds on an earlier commitment made by Dr. Mukiza during the launch of the Uganda Aquaculture Census Report, in which he signalled that the Bureau would further revise its release calendar to accommodate all outstanding data demands within the national statistical ecosystem. The Aquaculture Census Report itself was published on April 30, 2026.
UBOS has in recent months maintained a steady pace of statistical dissemination. Reports already published and available on the Bureau's official website include the Labour Market Survey, the National Human Resources Survey, and the Multidimensional Poverty Survey, among others.
The revised calendar reflects UBOS's broader mandate to provide timely, accurate and policy-relevant data to government, development partners, researchers and the general public as Uganda advances its planning and development agenda.
