Consumers to Vote for Uganda’s Top Brands in Newly Launched Business Awards

Ugandan consumers now have the power to spotlight their favorite brands and companies, thanks to the launch of the Consumer Business Awards, an initiative designed to recognize excellence across all sectors of the country’s business landscape.

Organized by Consumer Publications Limited, the awards aim to celebrate outstanding performance and innovation by companies operating in Uganda.

The campaign has been kicked off on Friday with a high profile launch event at the Sheraton Hotel in Kampala, where Ms. Agnes Alowo, the Chief of Operations at Consumer Publications, outlined the vision and process behind the awards.

“The Consumer Business Awards are a platform to celebrate the achievements of companies that have consistently delivered value and quality to consumers,” Alowo said.

“This initiative is open to businesses of all sizes and across all sectors. Winners will be determined through direct consumer feedback and verified by independent research.”

Alowo also emphasized that the integrity of the selection process will be maintained through an audit conducted by an independent professional firm, ensuring transparency and fairness.

Voting is now open and will run until May 31st, 2025. Consumers can cast their votes through the official website, www.consumerbusinessawards.com, or via social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and X.

To vote, participants are required to sign up or log in using their email and name, then browse through various categories and select their top companies.

Award categories cover a wide range of industries, including manufacturing, food and beverages, agriculture, energy, real estate, transport and logistics, among others.

The awards will culminate in a grand ceremony in August 2025, where top-performing businesses will be recognized for their impact and excellence.

Jamil Alibai, a representative from Eye Care Centre a company that has served Ugandans for 29 years commended the initiative and encouraged the public to support businesses they trust. “We are proud of the quality service we have offered for nearly three decades and hope to see consumer voices reflect that. For the last seven years we have been the winners of the awards,” he said.

Several other notable companies attended the launch, including Tyre Express, Sheer Products Limited, Tembo Steel Company, Sumz, and Dunlop, highlighting the widespread interest in the inaugural awards.

The Consumer Business Awards promise to not only celebrate success stories but also encourage healthy competition and raise standards in Uganda’s business environment.
