The Round of 16 fixtures of the Stanbic Uganda Cup have been officially confirmed, setting the stage for an exciting week of knockout football from 16th to 20th March 2026.

As Uganda’s most prestigious domestic knockout competition enters a decisive phase, 16 teams that successfully navigated the previous round will battle for a coveted place in the quarterfinals. With both top-tier sides and emerging clubs still in contention, the stage is set for thrilling encounters across different venues in the country. 

Action Kicks Off in Kassanda

The Round of 16 action gets underway on Monday, 16th March, with Happy Boys Kagaba hosting Six O’clock FC at Kagaba P/S in Kassanda. The fixture offers the hosts a chance to make a statement against experienced opposition as the tournament momentum begins to build.

Lugogo Double-Header on Tuesday

Tuesday promises a football feast at the MTN Omondi Stadium in Lugogo, where two matches will be played.

NEC FC will take on Lugazi FC in what is expected to be a competitive encounter, while former champions KCCA FC host Onduparaka FC in another highly anticipated tie. The Lugogo venue is expected to draw large crowds as fans rally behind their respective teams.

Royals and Defending Champions in Action

On Wednesday, Kitara FC will welcome Bunyaruguru United at The Royals Park in Butema, aiming to assert their dominance on home soil.

The same day will also see defending champions Vipers SC host Iganga United FC at the iconic St. Mary’s Stadium. Having lifted the trophy last season, Vipers will be keen to continue their title defence with a strong performance in front of their home supporters.

Villa Under the Lights

Thursday’s fixture will see record league champions SC Villa host Maroons FC under the floodlights, adding a dramatic touch to what promises to be a tightly contested encounter.

Friday Showdowns to Wrap Up the Stage

The Round of 16 will conclude on Friday with two fixtures. URA FC will take on Tapoh FC, while Express FC face Red Devo FC at Hamz Stadium. Both matches are expected to bring the curtain down on the stage in thrilling fashion as teams fight for a place in the last eight.

Rules at This Stage

The competition remains straightforward and unforgiving. The team that scores more goals at the end of normal time will be declared the winner. In the event that the teams are level after 90 minutes, the tie will be decided through a penalty shootout, with no extra time played.
