Professor Augustus Nuwagaba, the Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Uganda, has been recognized with the prestigious World Book of Records Certificate of Excellence for his outstanding contributions to education, community service, health advocacy, and inclusive socio-economic development in Uganda.

The award was officially conferred on 13th September 2025 at the historic House of Commons, British Parliament, Westminster, London, United Kingdom. The recognition, registered under UID No. WIX74285, underscores Prof. Nuwagaba’s influence as a thought leader and development practitioner in East Africa and beyond.

According to the certificate issued by the World Book of Records, London, Prof. Nuwagaba’s exemplary leadership and dedication to human capital development, financial inclusion, and social transformation were key drivers behind his selection for the award. His work has impacted various sectors in Uganda, particularly in advancing educational opportunities, promoting healthcare awareness, and fostering community-driven economic initiatives that uplift vulnerable groups.

Speaking after receiving the award, Prof. Nuwagaba expressed deep gratitude for the recognition, noting that it was both a personal honour and a tribute to Uganda’s broader efforts towards sustainable development.

“I have been honoured with an Award of Excellence from the World Book of Records at the British Parliament. This recognition is not just about me but about the collective strides Uganda is making in building inclusive socio-economic systems that work for everyone,” he remarked.

Its Certificate of Excellence is one of the highest accolades, celebrating leaders who demonstrate innovation, service, and commitment to positive change.

 

Prof. Nuwagaba, a distinguished scholar and policy expert, has over the years been instrumental in shaping Uganda’s economic reform strategies, mentoring young professionals, and spearheading initiatives that bridge the gap between academia, policy, and grassroots transformation.
