Sebei NRM Finalises Preparations for Nationwide Village Barazas
The final coordination meetings were held on Tuesday at various sub-county and division headquarters, bringing together NRM Local Council I (LC I) chairpersons and other party leaders to harmonise plans and ensure effective mobilisation at the grassroots.
SEBEI SUB-REGION — The National Resistance Movement (NRM) has intensified preparations for the nationwide Village Barazas scheduled for Wednesday, July 22, 2026, with party structures across the Sebei Sub-region expressing confidence in their readiness for the mobilisation exercise.
The final coordination meetings were held on Tuesday at various sub-county and division headquarters, bringing together NRM Local Council I (LC I) chairpersons and other party leaders to harmonise plans and ensure effective mobilisation at the grassroots.
The Village Barazas are expected to provide a platform for NRM leaders to engage directly with communities, mobilise support for the party's flag bearers and encourage voters to participate in the forthcoming Village Women Council and LC I Chairperson elections.
The mobilisation activities in Sebei are being coordinated by the NRM Sub-regional Coordinator, Mr. Yosiah Oloo, together with other members of the party's regional mobilisation team.
According to the party leadership, Tuesday's meetings marked the third round of preparatory engagements aimed at ensuring that the structures at all levels are fully prepared for the nationwide Barazas.
The latest coordination meetings followed earlier consultations with district leaders, registrars and other party structures in Kapchorwa, Kween and Bukwo, which form the core of the Sebei Sub-region.
The engagements have focused on strengthening coordination among party structures, communicating the mobilisation programme and ensuring that leaders at the grassroots understand their roles in the Barazas and the wider campaign for the upcoming local council elections.
NRM leaders in the region said the mobilisation message has already been widely disseminated through a combination of physical meetings and radio talk shows, enabling communities to receive information about the scheduled Barazas and the importance of participating in the electoral process.
The leaders expressed confidence that all sub-counties across Sebei are ready for the July 22 mobilisation activities, with party structures expected to work together to ensure that the Barazas are successfully conducted.
The meetings also underscored the importance of grassroots mobilisation as the NRM seeks to consolidate support for its candidates ahead of the Village Women Council and LC I Chairperson elections.
The Village Barazas are part of the party's broader mobilisation strategy designed to strengthen its presence at the village level and maintain direct engagement between party leaders, flag bearers, supporters and voters.
With preparations now complete, the Sebei NRM leadership has called upon its structures and supporters to remain coordinated and actively participate in the mobilisation activities as the region joins the rest of the country in the nationwide Village Barazas.
The exercise is expected to further energise the party's grassroots structures and provide an opportunity for NRM leaders to rally voters behind the party's candidates as the country approaches the Village Women Council and LC I elections.
