Lugazi FC vs Police FC – Najjembe (4 PM)

Maroons FC vs Soltilo Bright Stars FC – Luzira (4 PM)

Express FC vs BUL FC – Nakivubo (7 PM)

The StarTimes Uganda Premier League resumes on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, with three key fixtures as teams kickstart the second round of the season. Express FC headline the day's action as they seek to break a poor run against BUL FC, while Maroons FC and Lugazi FC also face crucial tests in their respective matches.

Express FC vs BUL FC: Red Eagles Seek Redemption

Express FC will host BUL FC under the Nakivubo Stadium floodlights in a match where the Red Eagles are determined to secure their first win over the Jinja-based side in five meetings.

Abbey Kikomeko’s BUL FC have dominated this fixture in recent seasons, with Express failing to beat them since 2023. That year, Express managed a 2-1 victory away from home, completing a league double over BUL. However, since then, they have struggled to overcome the resilient Jinja outfit.

As the second round begins, Express FC find themselves in third place on the table, and a victory could significantly boost their title aspirations. With second-placed NEC FC not in action until Thursday, a win will take Express within touching distance of their rivals.

Express FC captain Emmanuel Wasswa is optimistic ahead of the game.

“We want to start the second round with three points, and as players, we are ready.”

Their last encounter in the first round ended in a 1-1 draw, with Samuel Ssenyonjo scoring a late equalizer for Express after Nicholas Mwere had given BUL the lead.

BUL FC, currently in 9th place with 20 points, also have an incentive to win. Three points could see them rise to 6th place if Maroons FC fail to secure a victory in their game against Bright Stars.

Maroons FC vs Soltilo Bright Stars FC: The Prison Warders Eye a Historic Double

At Luzira Prison Grounds, Maroons FC will take on Soltilo Bright Stars FC, aiming to complete their first-ever league double over the visitors.

Maroons edged Bright Stars 1-0 in the first-round meeting at Kavumba and will be eager to replicate that result at home.

Soltilo Bright Stars, meanwhile, find themselves in a difficult position, having spent most of the first round battling in the relegation zone. They are desperate for maximum points to boost their survival chances.

Lugazi FC vs Police FC: Fufa Big League Rivals Clash Again

Newly promoted Lugazi FC will host Police FC at Najjembe in what is expected to be a fiercely contested battle between two former FUFA Big League rivals.

The last three encounters between these two teams have all ended in stalemates, and both sides will be eager to break the deadlock this time.

Police FC sit 10th on the table with 18 points, just five points above the relegation zone.

A loss to Lugazi could drag them into a relegation fight, something they will be keen to avoid.

Lugazi FC, currently in 13th place with 14 points, will be looking to extend their gap from the drop zone with a crucial home victory.

A win would give them a four-point cushion over the relegation spots.
