Uganda's women's football fraternity has received another boost on the international stage following the transfer of goalkeeper Vanessa Karungi to Danish top-flight side Brøndby IF.
The 26-year-old shot-stopper has completed a move to the historic Danish club after the expiration of her contract with FC Nordsjælland, ending a successful three-year spell with the Farum-based side. Upon joining Brøndby IF, Karungi signed a contract with immediate effect and will wear the club's number 21 jersey.

The club's Head of Women's Football, Kim André Pedersen, expressed delight at securing the services of the Ugandan international.
"We are very happy to have added another goalkeeper to our strong goalkeeping team. Vanessa comes with a fantastic personality, strong communication skills and good tactical qualities. She comes from several talented Danish clubs and will help to sharpen the competition in our goalkeeping group from day one. We are very happy to have Vanessa on the team," Pedersen said.
His remarks underline the confidence the club has in Karungi's abilities both on and off the pitch, highlighting her leadership qualities and tactical understanding of the game.
Karungi Excited for New Chapter

"I am incredibly happy to have signed with such a traditional and ambitious club. I am more than ready for the challenge that lies ahead. This is a fantastic opportunity and I am looking forward to working hard, helping the team and enjoying every moment on the pitch," Karungi said.
She also sent a message to the club's supporters, expressing her eagerness to connect with the fans and contribute to the team's ambitions.
"I can't wait to meet all the fans and everyone around the club, and hopefully achieve lots of success together as a team," she added.
