"FUFA is fully supporting the charity match as per the requests made by the Mustafa Foundation. FUFA will continue to support programmes that enrich the football family and benefit the community," Mulindwa said.
He noted that football goes beyond competition and trophies, serving as a platform to build communities, inspire young people and appreciate individuals who have played a significant role in nurturing talents.
Celebrating Coach Mike Mutebi's Legacy
Mulindwa commended Mustafa Kizza for remembering his roots and paying tribute to the coach who gave him his breakthrough in top-flight football.
"It is important to reflect on the journeys we walk and to appreciate those who supported us along the way. We thank Mustafa for this initiative and for remembering Coach Mike Mutebi, who gave him his top-flight debut," he added.
Coach Mike Mutebi is widely regarded as one of Uganda's finest football minds. Over the years, he has nurtured numerous players who have gone on to represent Uganda at both club and international levels. His emphasis on attractive, possession-based football and youth development has earned him admiration across East Africa.
Many of the country's top footballers, including Mustafa Kizza, have publicly acknowledged Mutebi's influence on their careers, making the planned tribute a fitting recognition of his contribution to Ugandan football.
Mustafa Kizza Giving Back
The charity match also highlights Mustafa Kizza's commitment to giving back to the football fraternity and society through the Mustafa Kizza Foundation. The foundation has been involved in various community initiatives aimed at supporting vulnerable groups and using sports as a tool for social transformation.
By organizing the match, Kizza seeks not only to celebrate his former mentor but also to inspire young footballers to appreciate the people who contribute to their success and to embrace the spirit of giving back.
