Newly Elected NRM Caucus Executive Holds First Meeting, Receives Orientation on Roles
The meeting, chaired by the Government Chief Whip, Hon. Dr. Ruth Aceng, focused on orienting the newly elected executive members on their respective roles and responsibilities as they prepare to commence their duties.
The newly elected National Resistance Movement (NRM) Caucus Executive today held its inaugural meeting, marking the beginning of its tenure and setting the stage for the execution of its responsibilities within the ruling party's parliamentary structure.
The meeting, chaired by the Government Chief Whip, Hon. Dr. Ruth Aceng, focused on orienting the newly elected executive members on their respective roles and responsibilities as they prepare to commence their duties.
Speaking during the session, Hon. Aceng emphasized the importance of unity, discipline, and teamwork in advancing the NRM's agenda in Parliament. She urged the new leaders to work closely with caucus members and uphold the principles of the party in the discharge of their responsibilities.
"The strength of the caucus lies in its unity and collective commitment to delivering on the promises made to Ugandans. As leaders, you have a duty to ensure effective coordination and mobilization within the caucus," she said.
The orientation session also provided an opportunity for the executive members to familiarize themselves with the operational procedures of the caucus and the expectations placed upon them in promoting cohesion and effective engagement on legislative and national matters.
The NRM Parliamentary Caucus plays a central role in coordinating the ruling party's positions on key government policies and legislation, ensuring that members speak with one voice on matters of national importance.
The first meeting of the new executive is expected to pave the way for enhanced coordination and a renewed focus on supporting the government's development agenda through effective parliamentary engagement.
