His Highness Jude Mike Mudoma, Umukuuka Wa Bugisu, is this week expected to lead a high-profile Bugisu cultural delegation to the United States of America following an official invitation from the North America and Canada Masaba Cultural Association (NAMCA).

According to the spokesperson of the Bugisu Cultural Institution, Hon. Steven Masiga, the delegation will undertake a cultural working tour aimed at strengthening ties between the Bamasaba living in the diaspora and their cultural institution back home in Uganda.

Masiga revealed that the delegation is expected to be hosted by Bamasaba living in America at the Double Tree Hotel in Washington, D.C.

The invited delegation includes several ministers and officials from the Bugisu Cultural Institution, among them Rt. Hon. Prime Minister Dr. Paul Mwambu, Her Royal Highness Annet Namugobe, Deputy Prime Ministers Clet Wandui, Wakhooli Bifoli and Dr. Kosea Wambaka.

Other members on the delegation include Investment Minister Emmanuel Mutanje, Education and Skilling Minister Samuel Kuloba, Foreign Affairs Minister Agnes Wache, Attorney General Richard Maserejje, and Bugisu Parliamentary Committee Coordinator Hon. Muhamood Masaba.

Also expected on the trip are Local Governments Minister Sakwa Napokoli, Global and Strategic Partnerships Envoy Robert Kimanai, Governance Minister Nyongesa Mureka, Deputy Health Minister Sarah Manana, Culture Commission head Michael Werikhe, youth coordinator Agnes Mutonyi, and businessman representative James Wakuma.

The delegation will also include prominent political figures from Bugisu such as Rt. Hon. Nathan Nandala-Mafabi and Joel Ssenyonyi Nambeshe, alongside special assistant to the Umukuka Ronald Mayeku.

Masiga emphasized that the visit presents a historic opportunity for Bamasaba in the diaspora to reconnect with their cultural heritage and engage directly with the Bugisu Cultural Institution leadership.

“We are going with Hon. Nandala Mafabi to America. As far as we are concerned, he is Umumaasaba and our subject. He was cleared by the embassy to accompany His Highness the Umukuka,” Masiga said.

The tour is expected to focus on cultural promotion, unity among the Bamasaba community abroad, investment opportunities, and strengthening partnerships between the diaspora and Bugisu Cultural Institution leadership.
