The Youth for Museveni Movement has intensified its nationwide mobilization campaign, rallying support in Eastern Uganda to safeguard the progress made under President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s leadership.
On Sunday, Nakku Fiona, Principal of the Youth for Museveni Movement, held a strategic engagement with focal leaders, community representatives, and students from the Presidential Skilling Hub in Bugisu. The meeting focused on strengthening grassroots structures and amplifying the campaign to secure what the group described as “13 million votes” in the upcoming general elections.
Preserving Uganda’s Achievements
In her address, Nakku urged the youth and community leaders to recognize and defend the strides Uganda has made under President Museveni. She cited major investments in education, infrastructure development, agriculture, and youth empowerment programs, particularly emphasizing the role of the Presidential Skilling Hubs in equipping young Ugandans with practical skills for self-reliance.
“Our achievements are worth defending,” Nakku declared. “We must stand together, mobilize communities, and ensure that Uganda continues on the path of stability, peace, and progress.”
Call for Unity and Mobilization
Nakku challenged participants to play an active role in mobilizing their communities, spreading the message of unity, and ensuring strong voter turnout in favor of President Museveni. She stressed that Uganda’s future lies in the hands of the youth, who form the majority of the population, and called upon them to be ambassadors of continuity.
She further noted that maintaining peace and stability is key to sustaining the development gains registered over the years. “We cannot afford to reverse the progress we have made,” she said. “This election is about securing Uganda’s future.”
The Role of the Presidential Skilling Hubs
The meeting also highlighted the impact of the Presidential Skilling Hubs, which have trained thousands of youth in vocational and entrepreneurial skills across the country. In Bugisu, the program has empowered many young people to start income-generating ventures, thereby reducing unemployment and enhancing community development.
Students from the hub expressed gratitude for the initiative, noting that the training has equipped them with valuable skills in tailoring, carpentry, mechanics, and ICT, which have transformed their livelihoods.
The Youth for Museveni Movement pledged to intensify its engagements in Eastern Uganda and beyond, focusing on grassroots mobilization to consolidate support for President Museveni. With an ambitious target of 13 million votes, the group aims to unify young people, local leaders, and communities under the banner of continued progress and transformation.
As the country gears up for the election season, the Movement’s message remains clear: preserve the gains, strengthen unity, and champion Uganda’s stability under President Museveni’s leadership.
