Diaspora Communities Celebrate Owobusobozi Bisaka's Legacy of Unity and Transformation
Omukama Ruhanga Owobusobozi Bisaka, the founder and spiritual leader of the Faith of Unity, has been honoured by Ugandans living abroad in recognition of his outstanding contribution to promoting unity, peace and socio-economic transformation over the past four decades.
The prestigious recognition was presented by a delegation of Ugandans from Canada, the United States and the United Kingdom, who commended Owobusobozi Bisaka for fostering social cohesion and inspiring development among communities both in Uganda and abroad.
Led by Mr Steve Buyiiza, the delegation said the teachings of the Faith of Unity have transcended national, social and religious boundaries, bringing together people from diverse backgrounds and promoting peaceful coexistence across the world.
"The message of unity championed by Owobusobozi Bisaka has transformed lives globally by encouraging harmony, self-reliance and collective development," Buyiiza said.
The delegation praised the Faith of Unity for promoting peace through its teachings and healing ministry, noting that the healing of bodily and spiritual ailments has nurtured discipline, hard work and moral values among both believers and non-believers.
They further highlighted the Faith's unique calendar, which allocates more days to productive work than to prayer and rest, saying it has encouraged wealth creation and accelerated socio-economic progress among followers.
Owobusobozi Bisaka has consistently urged adherents to establish micro and household-based industries as a means of improving livelihoods and combating poverty.
Founded more than four decades ago, the Faith of Unity has grown into a global movement with more than 4,000 prayer centres, known as Amatambiro, and 35 dioceses (Obukwenda) spread across different parts of the world.
President Yoweri Museveni has on several occasions commended the Faith of Unity for fostering discipline, unity and hard work among its followers, values he has described as critical to Uganda's socio-economic transformation.
The latest recognition underscores the growing international appreciation of the Faith of Unity's contribution to peacebuilding, social cohesion and community development.
