Hajat Hanifar Karadi Nominated for Kawempe North MP, Vows to Deliver Government Services on Time

Independent candidate Hajat Hanifar Karadi has been officially nominated, on Wednesday at the Electoral Commission (EC) office in Kawempe, setting the stage for a competitive race for the Kawempe North Member of Parliament (MP) seat.
Running under the symbol of a clock, Karadi emphasized her commitment to delivering timely and efficient services to her constituents.
Celebrating her nomination as the first candidate, she expressed confidence that this was a sign of victory.
"God does His things. I was the first to be nominated, and I believe I will remain first even on the 13th. Our symbol is the clock because we are going to do things on time and serve our people promptly," she declared.
A former Resident District Commissioner (RDC), Karadi highlighted the lack of government programs in Kawempe, despite their availability at the national level.
She pledged to use her experience to lobby for resources and bridge the gap so that Kawempe residents can benefit from national development programs.
"I know where government programs are, and I know how to get them. It is unfortunate that Kawempe lacks so much, yet the programs exist. I want to bridge that gap and ensure our people enjoy the national cake," she stated.
Following her nomination, Karadi called on her supporters to intensify door to door mobilization, urging them to work together for a win on March 13th.
"From today, let us move together. Let us work together so that we secure victory on the 13th," she urged.
Her supporters, who had gathered near Kanyanya Police Station, cheered as she embarked on her first campaign activities as an official candidate.
With Kawempe North being a highly contested parliamentary seat, Karadi's independent candidacy brings a fresh dynamic to the race. Whether her promise of timely service delivery and government lobbying will resonate with voters remains to be seen as campaigns gain momentum.
