Focus on Transparency and Accountability
In his opening remarks, Hon. Dombo called on party leaders to uphold transparency, accountability and integrity in the execution of their responsibilities, especially during the electoral process.
He stressed that leaders entrusted with party positions must ensure that grassroots elections are conducted fairly and in accordance with NRM guidelines.
“The strength of the NRM lies in the confidence that members have in their leaders. Transparency and accountability must guide every stage of our mobilisation and electoral activities,” Hon. Dombo said.
Mentorship of Young Cadres
Hon. Dombo also emphasized the importance of mentoring young cadres to prepare them for future leadership within the party.
He noted that the NRM must deliberately nurture a new generation of leaders capable of sustaining the party’s vision once the current leadership retires.
“Leadership is a relay. The older generation must mentor young cadres so that the party remains strong and organised for many years to come,” he added.
Strengthening Grassroots Structures
The Bugisu entry meeting forms part of a nationwide mobilisation and coordination exercise being undertaken by the NRM Secretariat ahead of the village-level elections.
Officials are expected to:
Review electoral preparedness in the sub-region
Harmonise mobilisation strategies

Strengthen coordination between district and village leadership
Commitment to Successful LC Elections
Party leaders attending the meeting reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring that the NRM remains well organised across the Bugisu sub-region and achieves a strong performance in the upcoming Local Council elections.
The meeting is expected to conclude with resolutions aimed at enhancing mobilisation, improving coordination among party structures and ensuring effective participation of NRM members throughout the electoral process.
