Kitara FC Sign Shaban Muhammad in Major Title Push Reinforcement

Kitara FC have completed the signing of experienced Uganda Cranes striker Shaban Muhammad on a two-year contract, marking one of the most significant mid-season additions in the Uganda Premier League.

Shaban returns to domestic football as a free agent after parting ways with Ethiopian outfit Ethiopia Bunna FC just a week ago. His arrival is widely viewed as a strong statement of intent from Kitara, who are positioning themselves as serious contenders in this season’s title race.

Under head coach Wasswa Bbosa, Kitara have built impressive momentum and currently sit just three points behind league leaders Vipers SC, who have played one game more. The addition of a striker with Shaban’s pedigree is expected to significantly strengthen the club’s attacking edge during the decisive phase of the campaign.

Renowned for his clinical finishing and intelligent movement, Shaban is considered one of Uganda’s most prolific forwards. His signing eases the scoring burden previously carried largely by Patrick Kaddu, offering Kitara greater attacking depth and tactical flexibility.

The striker’s reputation has been forged through standout performances in the Uganda Premier League, particularly during productive spells with Onduparaka FC and KCCA FC. Beyond Uganda, Shaban has gained valuable international experience, featuring for Moroccan powerhouse Raja Casablanca as well as Libyan sides Al Hilal Benghazi and Al Anwar.
