Moses Byaruhanga Urges Ugandans to Re-Elect President Museveni for Continued Peace and Prosperity
In an exclusive interview with this publication, Byaruhanga emphasized that Uganda stands at a defining moment where continuity in tested leadership is crucial to consolidating the progress achieved over the past decades.
The Senior Presidential Advisor on Political Affairs, Moses Byaruhanga, has called upon Ugandans to re-elect President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, describing him as a visionary and dependable leader whose strategic governance has anchored peace, democracy, and economic transformation across the nation.
In an exclusive interview with this publication, Byaruhanga emphasized that Uganda stands at a defining moment where continuity in tested leadership is crucial to consolidating the progress achieved over the past decades.
“President Museveni has consistently demonstrated the wisdom and capacity needed to guide the nation. Re-electing him will ensure the consolidation of the gains made and the realization of a better Uganda for generations to come,” Byaruhanga said.
He praised President Museveni’s unwavering commitment to inclusive development through initiatives that empower ordinary Ugandans and foster sustainable livelihoods. Among the flagship programs he cited were the Parish Development Model (PDM), Emyooga, the Women in Business GROW Program, the Youth Livelihood Program, and the Women Entrepreneurship Program.
According to Byaruhanga, these initiatives have significantly reshaped Uganda’s economic base by promoting financial inclusion, reducing poverty, and creating employment opportunities across various sectors. “Through these programs, the NRM government has empowered households to engage in productive ventures that enhance their incomes and overall well-being,” he noted.
Prioritizing Civil Service and Development
Byaruhanga further expressed confidence that if re-elected, President Museveni would give renewed focus to enhancing salaries for civil servants—a move he said would motivate the workforce and improve service delivery across government sectors.
“The President understands that an adequately remunerated civil service is key to efficient governance and effective implementation of public programs. This will be a major focus in the next term,” he remarked.
Infrastructure and National Transformation
Turning to infrastructure, Byaruhanga highlighted ongoing and planned national projects aimed at boosting connectivity, industrialization, and access to essential services. These include:
Expansion and rehabilitation of the railway network to enhance trade and regional integration;
Upgrading of national road systems to improve transport and logistics;
Universal access to affordable electricity to spur industrial and domestic productivity; and
Construction and renovation of classrooms and hospitals to strengthen education and healthcare delivery.
“These initiatives are central to the NRM government’s commitment to improving the livelihoods of Ugandans and building a stronger national economy,” Byaruhanga added.
A Legacy of Stability and Vision
Byaruhanga underscored that Uganda’s peace and stability today are direct results of President Museveni’s steady leadership and deliberate policies. He observed that under Museveni’s stewardship, the country has transitioned from instability to a thriving democracy with expanding opportunities in agriculture, industry, and services.
“President Museveni’s leadership has been a beacon of continuity, guiding Uganda through both regional and global challenges. His experience and vision remain unmatched,” Byaruhanga said.
He concluded by urging Ugandans to rally behind the National Resistance Movement (NRM) and President Museveni in the upcoming elections, affirming that continuity under proven leadership is essential for sustaining Uganda’s progress toward Vision 2040.
“Uganda’s future is secure with President Museveni at the helm. His leadership guarantees stability, unity, and transformation for all Ugandans,” Byaruhanga concluded.
