NRM District Administrators and Registrars Undergo Training Ahead of Party Membership Register Display

In a significant move aimed at strengthening grassroots mobilization and ensuring transparency within the party, the National Resistance Movement (NRM) district administrators and registrars convened this afternoon at the party headquarters, Plot 10 Kyadondo Road, Nakasero. The meeting, described as a critical training session, is part of preparations for the nationwide display of the NRM membership register in all villages across the country.

The training is designed to equip the district administrators and registrars with the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively manage the display of the membership register. This exercise is crucial as it seeks to verify and update the party’s records, ensuring that they reflect the true and current composition of the NRM’s membership base.

Speaking at the event, senior party officials emphasized the importance of this initiative in fostering accountability and inclusivity within the NRM. “This is a foundational step in engaging our grassroots supporters and ensuring their voices are reflected in the party’s strategic decisions,” one official noted.

Nationwide Membership Register Display

The display of the NRM membership register is expected to take place across all villages in Uganda. This move underscores the party’s commitment to maintaining a strong connection with its supporters at the local level. By showcasing the membership register publicly, the NRM aims to reaffirm its presence in every village while also addressing any discrepancies or omissions in the records.

According to party officials, the register display will provide an opportunity for members to confirm their details, update their information, and address any errors. Additionally, the process will help identify inactive members and ensure that all eligible individuals are accounted for ahead of upcoming political engagements.

The training is expected to produce well-prepared and knowledgeable administrators and registrars capable of managing the exercise efficiently. Participants were taken through various aspects of the process, including record verification, conflict resolution mechanisms, and strategies for ensuring transparency and accountability.

Key outcomes of this initiative include:

Enhanced Member Engagement: The process will strengthen the bond between the party and its supporters at the grassroots level.

Accurate Membership Records: The NRM aims to update its database to reflect the current realities within the party.

Strengthened Structures: The exercise will reinforce the party’s organizational structures and ensure effective mobilization.

Top NRM leaders, including party secretariat officials, graced the training session, emphasizing the importance of this initiative. They reassured members that the party remains committed to transparency, inclusivity, and grassroots involvement in its operations. The leadership also urged administrators and registrars to uphold the highest standards of professionalism throughout the exercise.

In his remarks, the Secretary General of the NRM, Richard Todwong, noted that the success of this initiative depends on the dedication of the administrators and registrars. “You are the backbone of this exercise. It is through your efforts that we will achieve a membership register that is accurate and reflective of our strength as a party,” Todwong remarked.

As the NRM gears up for the launch of the membership register display, the training held today marks a critical step in the journey. The exercise not only demonstrates the party’s commitment to strengthening its grassroots support but also underscores its resolve to uphold transparency and accountability in its operations.

The NRM remains a political force rooted in the people, and this initiative further reinforces its connection with the citizens. The membership register display is expected to set the stage for the party’s future engagements and cement its position as a party committed to the ideals of unity, service, and progress.
